當諭今世之富有者、志勿高、勿望無定之財、惟望上帝、即厚以百物賜我者、

當諭此世之富者、心勿傲、無定之財勿恃、惟賴永生上帝、洪賜我眾、百物以享之、

當諭此世之富者、心勿驕傲、勿恃無定之財、惟恃永生天主、厚賜我眾百物以享之、

叮嚀斯世富人、不可驕傲；財富無常、未足恃也。所可恃者、惟天主耳。天主慨然以萬物賜予吾人、俾得充量享受者、

Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.

For it is for this we labor and strive, because we have set our hope on the living God, who is the Savior of all mankind, especially of believers.

One who trusts in his riches will fall, But the righteous will flourish like the green leaf.

Quite right, they were broken off for their unbelief, but you stand by your faith. Do not be conceited, but fear;

This is what the Lord says:“ Let no wise man boast of his wisdom, nor let the mighty man boast of his might, nor a rich man boast of his riches;but let the one who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord who exercises mercy, justice, and righteousness on the earth; for I delight in these things,” declares the Lord.

Do not trust in oppression, And do not vainly rely on robbery; If wealth increases, do not set your heart on it.

And the disciples were amazed at His words. But Jesus responded again and* said to them,“ Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God!

For riches are not forever, Nor does a crown endure to all generations.

But the God in whose hand are your life breath and all your ways, you have not glorified.

There is a sickening evil which I have seen under the sun: wealth being hoarded by its owner to his detriment.When that wealth was lost through bad business and he had fathered a son, then there was nothing to support him.

Now the brother or sister of humble circumstances is to glory in his high position;but the rich person is to glory in his humiliation, because like flowering grass he will pass away.

Here is what I have seen to be good and fitting: to eat, to drink, and enjoy oneself in all one’s labor in which he labors under the sun during the few years of his life which God has given him; for this is his reward.Furthermore, as for every person to whom God has given riches and wealth, He has also given him the opportunity to enjoy them and to receive his reward and rejoice in his labor; this is the gift of God.

And Jesus said to His disciples,“ Truly I say to you, it will be hard for a rich person to enter the kingdom of heaven.

but in case I am delayed, I write so that you will know how one should act in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and support of the truth.

nor is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives to all people life and breath and all things;

You give to them, they gather it up; You open Your hand, they are satisfied with good.

You generation, look to the word of the Lord. Have I been a wilderness to Israel, Or a land of thick darkness? Why do My people say,‘ We are free to roam; We will no longer come to You’?

When you set your eyes on it, it is gone. For wealth certainly makes itself wings Like an eagle that flies toward the heavens.

instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously, and in a godly manner in the present age,

For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.

I direct you in the presence of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who testified the good confession before Pontius Pilate,

whom He richly poured out upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior,

Pay her back even as she has paid, and give back to her double according to her deeds; in the cup which she has mixed, mix twice as much for her.To the extent that she glorified herself and lived luxuriously, to the same extent give her torment and mourning; for she says in her heart,‘ I sit as a queen and I am not a widow, and will never see mourning.’
