信主的妇女若有亲戚是寡妇，要救济她们，不可拖累教会，好使教会能救济真正无助的寡妇。

耶稣对门徒讲了一个比喻，为了要他们常常祷告，不可灰心。

你们当中有谁是敬畏耶和华，听从他仆人的话语，却行在黑暗中，没有亮光的，当倚靠耶和华的名，仰赖自己的上帝。

那时你心里必说：“我既丧子不育，被掳，飘流在外，谁给我生了这些？谁将他们养大呢？看哪，我被撇下独自一人时，他们都在哪里呢？”

“看哪！上帝是我的拯救；我要倚靠他，并不惧怕。因为主耶和华是我的力量，是我的诗歌，他也成了我的拯救。”

他从高处降火进入我的骨头，克制了我；他张开网，绊我的脚，使我退后，又令我终日凄凉发昏。

锡安的城门必悲伤、哀号；它必荒凉，坐在地上。

上帝的选民昼夜呼吁他，他岂会延迟不给他们伸冤吗？

你这不怀孕、不生育的，要欢呼；你这未曾经过产难的，要欢呼，扬声呼喊；因为被遗弃的妇人，比有丈夫的人儿女更多；这是耶和华说的。

要靠着圣灵，随时多方祷告祈求，并要为此警醒不倦，为众圣徒祈求。

这应许，我们十二个支派，昼夜切切地事奉上帝，都指望得着。王啊，我正是因这指望被犹太人控告。

他必用自己的翎毛遮蔽你；你要投靠在他翅膀底下，他的信实是大小的盾牌。

愿耶和华照你所行的报偿你。你来投靠在耶和华—以色列上帝的翅膀下，愿你满得他的报偿。”

于是，他就分心了。没有结婚的和未婚的女子是为主的事挂虑，为要身体和心灵都圣洁；已经出嫁的是为世上的事挂虑，想怎样让丈夫喜悦。

也可以说，我在你们中间，因你我彼此的信心而同得安慰。

自从造天地以来，上帝的永能和神性是明明可知的，虽然眼不能见，但藉着所造之物就可以了解看见，叫人无可推诿。因为，他们虽然知道上帝，却不把他当作上帝荣耀他，也不感谢他。他们的思想变为虚妄，无知的心昏暗了。

我们从他蒙恩受了使徒的职分，为他的名在万国中使人因信而顺服，
