那無依無靠獨居的寡婦，她們仰望神，晝夜不住地祈求禱告。

那獨居無靠、真做寡婦的、是已把盼望釘住於上帝，而黑夜白日恆心不懈地祈求禱告的。

那真正的寡婦，無依無靠，已經把盼望寄託於神，日夜不住地祈求禱告；

無依之真嫠、上帝是望、晝夜恆於籲懇祈禱、

嫠獨處無倚、惟上帝是賴、晝夜祈禱、

孑遺無依之寡婦、惟天主是賴、晝夜恆於祈禱、

寡婦守節、而一無倚靠者、必能一心仰望天主、恆常祈禱、不舍晝夜。

就寡居了，現在已經八十四歲。她不離開聖殿，禁食祈求，晝夜事奉神。

要尊敬真正守寡的婦人。

我願你們一無掛慮。沒有結婚的是為主的事掛慮，想怎樣令主喜悅；

因為古時仰賴神的聖潔婦人正是以此為妝飾，順服自己的丈夫。

信主的婦女若有親戚是寡婦，要救濟她們，不可拖累教會，好使教會能救濟真正無助的寡婦。

耶穌對門徒講了一個比喻，為了要他們常常禱告，不可灰心。

你們當中有誰是敬畏耶和華，聽從他僕人的話語，卻行在黑暗中，沒有亮光的，當倚靠耶和華的名，仰賴自己的神。

那時你心裏必說：「我既喪子不育，被擄，飄流在外，誰給我生了這些？誰將他們養大呢？看哪，我被撇下獨自一人時，他們都在哪裏呢？」

「看哪！神是我的拯救；我要倚靠他，並不懼怕。因為主耶和華是我的力量，是我的詩歌，他也成了我的拯救。」

他從高處降火進入我的骨頭，剋制了我；他張開網，絆我的腳，使我退後，又令我終日淒涼發昏。

錫安的城門必悲傷、哀號；它必荒涼，坐在地上。

神的選民晝夜呼籲他，他豈會延遲不給他們伸冤嗎？

你這不懷孕、不生育的，要歡呼；你這未曾經過產難的，要歡呼，揚聲呼喊；因為被遺棄的婦人，比有丈夫的人兒女更多；這是耶和華說的。

要靠着聖靈，隨時多方禱告祈求，並要為此警醒不倦，為眾聖徒祈求。

這應許，我們十二個支派，晝夜切切地事奉神，都指望得着。王啊，我正是因這指望被猶太人控告。

他必用自己的翎毛遮蔽你；你要投靠在他翅膀底下，他的信實是大小的盾牌。

願耶和華照你所行的報償你。你來投靠在耶和華－以色列神的翅膀下，願你滿得他的報償。」

於是，他就分心了。沒有結婚的和未婚的女子是為主的事掛慮，為要身體和心靈都聖潔；已經出嫁的是為世上的事掛慮，想怎樣讓丈夫喜悅。

也可以說，我在你們中間，因你我彼此的信心而同得安慰。

自從造天地以來，神的永能和神性是明明可知的，雖然眼不能見，但藉着所造之物就可以了解看見，叫人無可推諉。因為，他們雖然知道神，卻不把他當作神榮耀他，也不感謝他。他們的思想變為虛妄，無知的心昏暗了。

我們從他蒙恩受了使徒的職分，為他的名在萬國中使人因信而順服，
