寡婦守節、而一無倚靠者、必能一心仰望天主、恆常祈禱、不舍晝夜。

现在已经八十四岁，并不离开圣殿，禁食祈求，昼夜侍奉神。

要尊敬那真为寡妇的。

我愿你们无所挂虑。没有娶妻的，是为主的事挂虑，想怎样叫主喜悦。

因为古时仰赖神的圣洁妇人正是以此为妆饰，顺服自己的丈夫，

信主的妇女，若家中有寡妇，自己就当救济她们，不可累着教会，好使教会能救济那真无倚靠的寡妇。

耶稣设一个比喻，是要人常常祷告，不可灰心。

你们中间谁是敬畏耶和华、听从他仆人之话的？这人行在暗中，没有亮光。当倚靠耶和华的名，仗赖自己的神。

那时你心里必说：我既丧子独居，是被掳的，漂流在外。谁给我生这些？谁将这些养大呢？撇下我一人独居的时候，这些在哪里呢？’”

看哪！神是我的拯救；我要倚靠他，并不惧怕。因为主耶和华是我的力量，是我的诗歌，他也成了我的拯救。”

他从高天使火进入我的骨头，克制了我；他铺下网罗，绊我的脚，使我转回；他使我终日凄凉发昏。

锡安的城门必悲伤、哀号；她必荒凉坐在地上。

神的选民昼夜呼吁他，他纵然为他们忍了多时，岂不终久给他们伸冤吗？

“你这不怀孕、不生养的要歌唱；你这未曾经过产难的要发声歌唱，扬声欢呼；因为没有丈夫的比有丈夫的儿女更多。这是耶和华说的。

靠着圣灵，随时多方祷告祈求；并要在此警醒不倦，为众圣徒祈求，

这应许，我们十二个支派，昼夜切切地侍奉神，都指望得着。王啊，我被犹太人控告，就是因这指望。

他必用自己的翎毛遮蔽你；你要投靠在他的翅膀底下；他的诚实是大小的盾牌。

愿耶和华照你所行的赏赐你。你来投靠耶和华以色列神的翅膀下，愿你满得他的赏赐。”

妇人和处女也有分别。没有出嫁的，是为主的事挂虑，要身体、灵魂都圣洁；已经出嫁的，是为世上的事挂虑，想怎样叫丈夫喜悦。

这样，我在你们中间，因你与我彼此的信心，就可以同得安慰。

自从造天地以来，神的永能和神性是明明可知的，虽是眼不能见，但藉着所造之物就可以晓得，叫人无可推诿。因为，他们虽然知道神，却不当作神荣耀他，也不感谢他。他们的思念变为虚妄，无知的心就昏暗了。

我们从他受了恩惠并使徒的职分，在万国之中叫人为他的名信服真道；
