摩押女子路得對拿俄米說：『容我到田間去，我蒙誰賞臉，就在誰後邊撿麥穗。』拿俄米說：『我女兒啊，你只管去吧。』

你們倒說：「人若對父親或母親說，你可由我得益之物、已經用做「各耳板」了，就是說、用做獻神的禮物了，你們就再不容他對父親或母親作甚麼孝敬的事。這就藉着你們所傳授的、你們的傳統規矩、以取消上帝的話了！你們還作了許多這樣相類的事呢。」

雅各在埃及地生活了十七年：雅各在世的日子，他一生的歲數是一百四十七歲。

他就同他們下去、到拿撒勒、去順服他們；他母親把這一切事都存在心裏。

約瑟將食物供養他父親和他弟兄、以及他父親全家，各照弱小人口的需要。

在本族民中他沒有苗裔、沒有後代。在寓居的各地、他也沒有殘存的人。
