摩押女子路得對娜娥米說：「請讓我到田裡去吧，我在誰的眼前蒙恩，就在他的後面撿拾麥穗。」娜娥米對她說：「我的女兒啊，去吧！」

你們卻說『如果一個人對父親或母親說：我本該給你的，已經做了「各爾板」——這意思是「聖殿奉獻」，就准許這個人可以不再為父母做什麼了。』這樣，你們就藉著所繼承的傳統，廢棄了神的話語。你們還做很多類似這樣的事。」

雅各又在埃及地活了十七年；他一生的年日有一百四十七年。

「我必起來攻擊他們！」萬軍之耶和華如此宣告。「我必把巴比倫的名號、餘剩者、子孫後代都剪除！」耶和華如此宣告。

大衛從那裡去摩押的米斯巴，見摩押王說：「請讓我的父母來與你們在一起，等我知道神要為我做什麼。」於是他把父母安置在摩押王那裡。大衛在要塞的所有日子，他父母都與摩押王住在一起。

你們做兒女的，要在主裡順從自己的父母，因為這是理所當然的。「要孝敬父母，使你得福，在地上長壽。」這是第一條帶著應許的誡命。

她的兒女起來，稱她有福，她的丈夫也稱讚她：

於是耶穌與他們一起下去，回到拿撒勒，一直服從他們。他的母親把這一切事都珍藏在心裡。

約瑟以孩童人數為基準，供應糧食給他的父親、他的兄弟們以及他父親的全家。
