其人必須有賢德之稱曾教養兒女善待賓客、且為聖徒洗足、平生濟人之難、周人之急、孳孳為善、惟日不足者、方得稱是。

She must be well known for the good things she does. That includes bringing up children. It includes inviting guests into her home. It includes washing the feet of the Lord’s people. It includes helping those who are in trouble. A widow should spend her time doing all kinds of good things.

and having a reputation for good works: if she has brought up children, has shown hospitality, has washed the feet of the saints, has cared for the afflicted, and has devoted herself to every good work.

She must be well respected by everyone because of the good she has done. Has she brought up her children well? Has she been kind to strangers and served other believers humbly? Has she helped those who are in trouble? Has she always been ready to do good?

Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.

This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.

In Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha( in Greek her name is Dorcas); she was always doing good and helping the poor.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.

Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.

Then he turned toward the woman and said to Simon,“ Do you see this woman? I came into your house. You did not give me any water for my feet, but she wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair.

Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good,

who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.

so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Let a little water be brought, and then you may all wash your feet and rest under this tree.

Our people must learn to devote themselves to doing what is good, in order to provide for urgent needs and not live unproductive lives.

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds,

equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness

but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.

One of those listening was a woman from the city of Thyatira named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth. She was a worshiper of God. So the man went to the house, and the camels were unloaded. Straw and fodder were brought for the camels, and water for him and his men to wash their feet.

so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,

He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil’s trap.

If any woman who is a believer has widows in her care, she should continue to help them and not let the church be burdened with them, so that the church can help those widows who are really in need.

In the same way, good deeds are obvious, and even those that are not obvious cannot remain hidden forever.

Peter went with them, and when he arrived he was taken upstairs to the room. All the widows stood around him, crying and showing him the robes and other clothing that Dorcas had made while she was still with them.

“‘ If any of your fellow Israelites become poor and are unable to support themselves among you, help them as you would a foreigner and stranger, so they can continue to live among you.

Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.

Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.

I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also.

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

“ A man named Ananias came to see me. He was a devout observer of the law and highly respected by all the Jews living there.

And you are clean, though not every one of you.”For he knew who was going to betray him, and that was why he said not every one was clean.When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place.“ Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them.“ You call me‘ Teacher’ and‘ Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am.Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.

The men replied,“ We have come from Cornelius the centurion. He is a righteous and God- fearing man, who is respected by all the Jewish people. A holy angel told him to ask you to come to his house so that he could hear what you have to say.”
