當慕純真之道、如甫生嬰兒之慕乳然、使爾由此而漸長、

爾雖素知之、我仍欲使爾記憶、昔主救民出伊及、後滅諸不信者、

比頑童者、盜刼人口者、誑言者、妄誓者、及一切逆正教之事而設、

爾當以此使人記憶、在主前諭眾、勿為言詞而起爭端、不但無益、且足迷惑聽之者、爾當取悅於天主、為無愧之工、善頒真道、

惟爾所言、必合乎正教、

因此我勸爾以天主之恩賜、即因我按手所賜於爾者、再發動之、如火復熾、

故當警醒、憶我三年之久、晝夜不息、涕泣以勸爾各人、

爾當於凡事顯己為行善之模範、於傳道無邪僻、端莊無偽、所言當正、無可指摘、使仇敵無從議論爾惡、自覺慚愧、○勸奴當服其主人、凡事求其悅、勿違其言、勿竊其物、惟當盡忠、以致凡事榮我救主天主之教、○

我凡事示爾、當如是勤勞、以扶持荏弱之人、當憶我主耶穌之言云、施較受更為福、○

由其欲心、妄自誇許、不愛戴元首、不知全體賴首、以百節維繫、輔助聯絡、能按天主之旨而日長也、

遣弟提摩太、即天主之役、與我儕同勞傳天主福音者、以堅固爾、勸慰爾、使爾信德愈大、

若有人施教、與此不同、不從我主耶穌基督之正言、及虔敬之訓、

然我儕所至之地、當遵一法、當懷一意、○

惟爾所學及授爾以信者、當恆守之、爾知由誰學之也、爾自幼識聖經、聖經能使爾有智慧、由信基督而得救、聖經皆由天主默示所作、有益於教誨督責、使人歸正、教人學義、使事天主之人、得以純全練達、能行諸善事、

耶穌曰、是以凡經士、為天國而學道者、如一家主、由其庫中出新舊之物、○

故爾雖知此、且堅定於所得之真道、我恆以此諸事使爾憶之、蓋我尚在此幕之時、勸勉爾、使爾憶此諸事、我以為宜然也、因知我幕將速撤、如我主耶穌基督示我者、故我殷勤勸勉爾、使爾於我去世之後、常憶此諸事、

主之律法純全、可以蘇醒人心、主之法度真實、可以使愚人有智慧、

耶穌謂之曰、我道非我道、乃遣我者之道也、人欲遵行其旨、必知斯道、或由天主、或我由己而言、

爾當慎己、亦慎所教、當恆心在此、如是而行、則可自救、亦救聽爾者、

緣此我遣提摩太、即我愛子、忠心事主者、就爾、彼必以我事基督之所行、於各處教會如何訓誨悉告爾、使爾記憶、

乃諸事自表為天主之僕、即多忍、患難、窮乏、

我誨爾之道至美、勿棄我教、

當以愛心言真實、凡事日漸增長、及於為元首者、即基督也、全體賴彼聯絡鞏固、百節諸肢、各隨其用、各按其量、力行相助、使體漸長、而以愛自建、○

我畧為張膽、以書致兄弟、使爾記憶、我賴天主所賜我之恩、

惟爾知我之教誨、品行、心志、信德、含容、仁愛、恆忍、

主萬有之天主歟、我稱為主之僕、我得主之言、則味之若食、則味之若食或作則視如飲食原文作則食之主之言、使我心欣喜歡樂、

天主使我能為新約之役、非循儀文、乃循聖神、蓋儀文致死、聖神致生、

我所愛之弟推基古、乃主之忠役者、將以我事並我所為、悉告爾、

人當視我儕為基督之役、宰天主奧妙者、所求於家宰者、惟欲其忠也、

可愛者乎、我今書此後書達爾、我在此二書、使爾記憶、以激發爾之善心、使爾記憶聖先知之預言、及我主救主之命、即我使徒所授者也、

蓋後必有人厭聞正道之教、喜聽悅耳之言、狥私慾而多增其師、
