Do not neglect the spiritual gift you received through the prophecy spoken over you when the elders of the church laid their hands on you.

曩於諸長老行覆手禮時、汝藉豫言而承受之恩寵、尚在汝之心中；

Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you.

Don’t fail to use the gift the Holy Spirit gave you. He gave it to you through a prophecy from God. It was given when the elders placed their hands on you.

Do not neglect the gift you have, which was given you by prophecy when the council of elders laid their hands on you.

Don’t neglect the gift that is in you; it was given to you through prophecy, with the laying on of hands by the council of elders.

Do not neglect the spiritual gift within you, which was granted to you through words of prophecy with the laying on of hands by the council of elders.

Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership.

Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.

Do not neglect the gift that is in you; it was given to you through prophecy, with the laying on of hands by the council of elders.

Do not neglect the spiritual gift you have, given to you and confirmed by prophetic words when the elders laid hands on you.

This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you.

Timothy, my son, here are my instructions for you, based on the prophetic words spoken about you earlier. May they help you fight well in the Lord’s battles.

These seven were presented to the apostles, who prayed for them as they laid their hands on them.

Cheerfully share your home with those who need a meal or a place to stay.God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen.

Do not stifle the Holy Spirit.

Never be in a hurry about appointing a church leader. Do not share in the sins of others. Keep yourself pure.

So after more fasting and prayer, the men laid their hands on them and sent them on their way.

He said,“ A nobleman was called away to a distant empire to be crowned king and then return.Before he left, he called together ten of his servants and divided among them ten pounds of silver, saying,‘ Invest this for me while I am gone.’But his people hated him and sent a delegation after him to say,‘ We do not want him to be our king.’“ After he was crowned king, he returned and called in the servants to whom he had given the money. He wanted to find out what their profits were.The first servant reported,‘ Master, I invested your money and made ten times the original amount!’“‘ Well done!’ the king exclaimed.‘ You are a good servant. You have been faithful with the little I entrusted to you, so you will be governor of ten cities as your reward.’“ The next servant reported,‘ Master, I invested your money and made five times the original amount.’“‘ Well done!’ the king said.‘ You will be governor over five cities.’“ But the third servant brought back only the original amount of money and said,‘ Master, I hid your money and kept it safe.I was afraid because you are a hard man to deal with, taking what isn’t yours and harvesting crops you didn’t plant.’“‘ You wicked servant!’ the king roared.‘ Your own words condemn you. If you knew that I’m a hard man who takes what isn’t mine and harvests crops I didn’t plant,why didn’t you deposit my money in the bank? At least I could have gotten some interest on it.’“ Then, turning to the others standing nearby, the king ordered,‘ Take the money from this servant, and give it to the one who has ten pounds.’“‘ But, master,’ they said,‘ he already has ten pounds!’“‘ Yes,’ the king replied,‘ and to those who use well what they are given, even more will be given. But from those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away.

Then Peter and John laid their hands upon these believers, and they received the Holy Spirit.

“ Again, the Kingdom of Heaven can be illustrated by the story of a man going on a long trip. He called together his servants and entrusted his money to them while he was gone.He gave five bags of silver to one, two bags of silver to another, and one bag of silver to the last— dividing it in proportion to their abilities. He then left on his trip.“ The servant who received the five bags of silver began to invest the money and earned five more.The servant with two bags of silver also went to work and earned two more.But the servant who received the one bag of silver dug a hole in the ground and hid the master’s money.“ After a long time their master returned from his trip and called them to give an account of how they had used his money.The servant to whom he had entrusted the five bags of silver came forward with five more and said,‘ Master, you gave me five bags of silver to invest, and I have earned five more.’“ The master was full of praise.‘ Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!’“ The servant who had received the two bags of silver came forward and said,‘ Master, you gave me two bags of silver to invest, and I have earned two more.’“ The master said,‘ Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!’“ Then the servant with the one bag of silver came and said,‘ Master, I knew you were a harsh man, harvesting crops you didn’t plant and gathering crops you didn’t cultivate.I was afraid I would lose your money, so I hid it in the earth. Look, here is your money back.’“ But the master replied,‘ You wicked and lazy servant! If you knew I harvested crops I didn’t plant and gathered crops I didn’t cultivate,why didn’t you deposit my money in the bank? At least I could have gotten some interest on it.’“ Then he ordered,‘ Take the money from this servant, and give it to the one with the ten bags of silver.To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But from those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away.Now throw this useless servant into outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you.If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well.If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.

Then when Paul laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in other tongues and prophesied.
