[ It is] better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.

Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble,[ and] he delivered them out of their distresses.And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.Oh that[ men] would praise the LORD[ for] his goodness, and[ for] his wonderful works to the children of men!For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death,[ being] bound in affliction and iron;Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High:Therefore he brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and[ there was] none to help.Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble,[ and] he saved them out of their distresses.He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder.Oh that[ men] would praise the LORD[ for] his goodness, and[ for] his wonderful works to the children of men!For he hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder.Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted.Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death.Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble,[ and] he saveth them out of their distresses.He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered[ them] from their destructions.Oh that[ men] would praise the LORD[ for] his goodness, and[ for] his wonderful works to the children of men!And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters;These see the works of the LORD, and his wonders in the deep.For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits’ end.Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.Oh that[ men] would praise the LORD[ for] his goodness, and[ for] his wonderful works to the children of men!Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders.He turneth rivers into a wilderness, and the watersprings into dry ground;A fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.He turneth the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into watersprings.And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation;And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase.He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and suffereth not their cattle to decrease.Again, they are minished and brought low through oppression, affliction, and sorrow.He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the wilderness,[ where there is] no way.Yet setteth he the poor on high from affliction, and maketh[ him] families like a flock.The righteous shall see[ it], and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.Whoso[ is] wise, and will observe these[ things], even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the LORD.

Tell ye, and bring[ them] near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time?[ who] hath told it from that time?[ have] not I the LORD? and[ there is] no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour;[ there is] none beside me.Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I[ am] God, and[ there is] none else.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

[ We are] troubled on every side, yet not distressed;[ we are] perplexed, but not in despair;Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.

Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

O LORD of hosts, blessed[ is] the man that trusteth in thee.

But I[ am] like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.

If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy[ are ye]; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or[ as] a thief, or[ as] an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters.

Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed:But in all[ things] approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses,In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings;By pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned,By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and[ yet] true;As unknown, and[ yet] well known; as dying, and, behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed;As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and[ yet] possessing all things.

But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

Behold, God[ is] my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH[ is] my strength and[ my] song; he also is become my salvation.

Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.

He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.

Let the redeemed of the LORD say[ so], whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

Thy righteousness[ is] like the great mountains; thy judgments[ are] a great deep: O LORD, thou preservest man and beast.

Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.

The LORD[ is] good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of[ them] all the Lord delivered me.Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

Who[ is] among you that feareth the LORD, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh[ in] darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the LORD, and stay upon his God.

And the LORD shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.

Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.

[ Then] Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed[ be] the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.

Blessed[ is] the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
