这样，你们可以得到外人的尊敬，不必依赖任何人。

不要成为犹太人、希腊人或上帝教会的绊脚石，

言语纯全、无可指责，让那些反对的人无话可说、自觉羞愧。

耶稣说：“上帝国的奥秘只让你们知道，对于外人，我只用比喻，

如果你们为基督的缘故受辱骂，就有福了！因为上帝荣耀的灵常住在你们身上。你们谁也不可因杀人、偷盗、作恶或管闲事而受苦。若是为了做基督徒而受苦，不要觉得羞耻，要因这身份归荣耀给上帝。

所以，我建议年轻的寡妇再嫁，生儿育女，料理家务，不要给仇敌毁谤的机会，

我何必去审判教会以外的人呢？然而，教会里面的人岂不是该由你们审判吗？

杜绝所有的恶事。

我儿啊，不可这样，我听到在耶和华的子民中流传着你们的坏名声。

自制、贞洁，持家、和善、顺服丈夫，免得上帝的道被人毁谤。
