There is no doubt that true godliness comes from this great mystery. Jesus came as a human being. The Holy Spirit proved that he was the Son of God. He was seen by angels. He was preached among the nations. People in the world believed in him. He was taken up to heaven in glory.

Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.

Without question, this is the great mystery of our faith: Christ was revealed in a human body and vindicated by the Spirit. He was seen by angels and announced to the nations. He was believed in throughout the world and taken to heaven in glory.

And most certainly, the mystery of godliness is great: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.

The Word became flesh and took up residence among us. We observed His glory, the glory as the One and Only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Now to Him who has power to strengthen you according to my gospel and the proclamation about Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept silent for long ages

The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact expression of His nature, sustaining all things by His powerful word. After making purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

Then after speaking to them, the Lord Jesus was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.

While they were perplexed about this, suddenly two men stood by them in dazzling clothes.

if indeed you remain grounded and steadfast in the faith and are not shifted away from the hope of the gospel that you heard. This gospel has been proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and I, Paul, have become a servant of it.

See, the virgin will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and they will name Him Immanuel, which is translated“ God is with us.”

For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on His shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

For everything was created by Him, in heaven and on earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities— all things have been created through Him and for Him.He is before all things, and by Him all things hold together.He is also the head of the body, the church; He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He might come to have first place in everything.

Jesus Christ— He is the One who came by water and blood, not by water only, but by water and by blood. And the Spirit is the One who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.For there are three that testify:the Spirit, the water, and the blood— and these three are in agreement.

It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you. These things have now been announced to you through those who preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Angels desire to look into these things.

After Jesus was baptized, He went up immediately from the water. The heavens suddenly opened for Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming down on Him.

Now that He has gone into heaven, He is at God’s right hand with angels, authorities, and powers subject to Him.

You know that He was revealed so that He might take away sins, and there is no sin in Him.

God’s chariots are tens of thousands, thousands and thousands; the Lord is among them in the sanctuary as He was at Sinai.You ascended to the heights, taking away captives; You received gifts from people, even from the rebellious, so that the Lord God might live there.

The Lord God has opened My ear, and I was not rebellious; I did not turn back.I gave My back to those who beat Me, and My cheeks to those who tore out My beard. I did not hide My face from scorn and spitting.The Lord God will help Me; therefore I have not been humiliated; therefore I have set My face like flint, and I know I will not be put to shame.

in that day when He comes to be glorified by His saints and to be admired by all those who have believed, because our testimony among you was believed.

for there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, since the same Lord of all is rich to all who call on Him.

The mystery was made known to me by revelation, as I have briefly written above.By reading this you are able to understand my insight about the mystery of the Messiah.This was not made known to people in other generations as it is now revealed to His holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit:The Gentiles are coheirs, members of the same body, and partners of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel.I was made a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace that was given to me by the working of His power.This grace was given to me— the least of all the saints— to proclaim to the Gentiles the incalculable riches of the Messiah,and to shed light for all about the administration of the mystery hidden for ages in God who created all things.This is so God’s multi-faceted wisdom may now be made known through the church to the rulers and authorities in the heavens.

The first man was from the earth and made of dust; the second man is from heaven.

I want their hearts to be encouraged and joined together in love, so that they may have all the riches of assured understanding and have the knowledge of God’s mystery— Christ.

He answered them,“ Because the secrets of the kingdom of heaven have been given for you to know, but it has not been given to them.

We are all witnesses of this.Therefore, since He has been exalted to the right hand of God and has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit, He has poured out what you both see and hear.For it was not David who ascended into the heavens, but he himself says: The Lord declared to my Lord,‘ Sit at My right handuntil I make Your enemies Your footstool.’“ Therefore let all the house of Israel know with certainty that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah!”

When the time came to completion, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the law,

Then the Devil left Him, and immediately angels came and began to serve Him.

For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work, but the one now restraining will do so until he is out of the way,

But the angel said to them,“ Don’t be afraid, for look, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people:Today a Savior, who is Messiah the Lord, was born for you in the city of David.This will be the sign for you: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in cloth and lying in a feeding trough.”Suddenly there was a multitude of the heavenly host with the angel, praising God and saying:Glory to God in the highest heaven, and peace on earth to people He favors!

Therefore, the Lord Himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive, have a son, and name him Immanuel.

He was in the wilderness 40 days, being tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals, and the angels began to serve Him.

Jesus knew that the Father had given everything into His hands, that He had come from God, and that He was going back to God.

But we do see Jesus— made lower than the angels for a short time so that by God’s grace He might taste death for everyone— crowned with glory and honor because of His suffering in death.For in bringing many sons to glory, it was entirely appropriate that God— all things exist for Him and through Him— should make the source of their salvation perfect through sufferings.For the One who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have one Father. That is why Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers,saying: I will proclaim Your name to My brothers; I will sing hymns to You in the congregation.Again, I will trust in Him. And again, Here I am with the children God gave Me.

And John testified,“ I watched the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and He rested on Him.I didn’t know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water told me,‘ The One you see the Spirit descending and resting on— He is the One who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’

that has come to you. It is bearing fruit and growing all over the world, just as it has among you since the day you heard it and recognized God’s grace in the truth.

After this I looked, and there was a vast multitude from every nation, tribe, people, and language, which no one could number, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were robed in white with palm branches in their hands.

“ The days are coming”— this is the Lord’s declaration—“ when I will raise up a Righteous Branch of David. He will reign wisely as king and administer justice and righteousness in the land.In His days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely. This is what He will be named: Yahweh Our Righteousness.

Suddenly there was a violent earthquake, because an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and approached the tomb. He rolled back the stone and was sitting on it.

She saw two angels in white sitting there, one at the head and one at the feet, where Jesus’ body had been lying.

I came from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I am leaving the world and going to the Father.”

After they arrived and gathered the church together, they reported everything God had done with them and that He had opened the door of faith to the Gentiles.

I wrote the first narrative, Theophilus, about all that Jesus began to do and teachuntil the day He was taken up, after He had given orders through the Holy Spirit to the apostles He had chosen.After He had suffered, He also presented Himself alive to them by many convincing proofs, appearing to them during 40 days and speaking about the kingdom of God.While He was together with them, He commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for the Father’s promise.“ This,” He said,“ is what you heard from Me;for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”So when they had come together, they asked Him,“ Lord, are You restoring the kingdom to Israel at this time?”He said to them,“ It is not for you to know times or periods that the Father has set by His own authority.But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”After He had said this, He was taken up as they were watching, and a cloud took Him out of their sight.While He was going, they were gazing into heaven, and suddenly two men in white clothes stood by them.They said,“ Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking up into heaven? This Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come in the same way that you have seen Him going into heaven.”

He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure that He planned in Him

Now, Father, glorify Me in Your presence with that glory I had with You before the world existed.

“ When the Counselor comes, the One I will send to you from the Father— the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father— He will testify about Me.

since the One at work in Peter for an apostleship to the circumcised was also at work in me for the Gentiles.

Then Paul and Barnabas boldly said:“ It was necessary that God’s message be spoken to you first. But since you reject it and consider yourselves unworthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles!For this is what the Lord has commanded us: I have made you a light for the Gentiles to bring salvation to the ends of the earth.”When the Gentiles heard this, they rejoiced and glorified the message of the Lord, and all who had been appointed to eternal life believed.

Then what if you were to observe the Son of Man ascending to where He was before?

Bethlehem Ephrathah, you are small among the clans of Judah; One will come from you to be ruler over Israel for Me. His origin is from antiquity, from eternity.

who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God as something to be used for His own advantage.Instead He emptied Himself by assuming the form of a slave, taking on the likeness of men. And when He had come as a man in His external form,He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death— even to death on a cross.

God wanted to make known among the Gentiles the glorious wealth of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

On the contrary, we speak God’s hidden wisdom in a mystery, a wisdom God predestined before the ages for our glory.

Then the angel said to me,“ Why are you astonished? I will tell you the secret meaning of the woman and of the beast, with the seven heads and the 10 horns, that carries her.

When He comes, He will convict the world about sin, righteousness, and judgment:About sin, because they do not believe in Me;

But I ask,“ Did they not hear?” Yes, they did: Their voice has gone out to all the earth, and their words to the ends of the inhabited world.

concerning His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who was a descendant of David according to the fleshand who has been declared to be the powerful Son of God by the resurrection from the dead according to the Spirit of holiness.

Now the main point of what is being said is this: We have this kind of high priest, who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,

For Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, that He might bring you to God, after being put to death in the fleshly realm but made alive in the spiritual realm.
