Beyond all question, the mystery from which true godliness springs is great: He appeared in the flesh, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory.

There is no doubt that true godliness comes from this great mystery. Jesus came as a human being. The Holy Spirit proved that he was the Son of God. He was seen by angels. He was preached among the nations. People in the world believed in him. He was taken up to heaven in glory.

Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.

Without question, this is the great mystery of our faith: Christ was revealed in a human body and vindicated by the Spirit. He was seen by angels and announced to the nations. He was believed in throughout the world and taken to heaven in glory.

And most certainly, the mystery of godliness is great: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.

And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us( and we beheld his glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father), full of grace and truth.

Now to him that is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which hath been kept in silence through times eternal,

who being the effulgence of his glory, and the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had made purification of sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken unto them, was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.

And it came to pass, while they were perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel:

if so be that ye continue in the faith, grounded and stedfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel which ye heard, which was preached in all creation under heaven; whereof I Paul was made a minister.

Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, And they shall call his name Immanuel; which is, being interpreted, God with us.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Take heed unto yourselves, and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit hath made you bishops, to feed the church of the Lord which he purchased with his own blood.

for in him were all things created, in the heavens and upon the earth, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all things have been created through him, and unto him;and he is before all things, and in him all things consist.And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not with the water only, but with the water and with the blood.And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is the truth.For there are three who bear witness, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and the three agree in one.

To whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto you, did they minister these things, which now have been announced unto you through them that preached the gospel unto you by the Holy Spirit sent forth from heaven; which things angels desire to look into.

And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway from the water: and lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove, and coming upon him;

who is on the right hand of God, having gone into heaven; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.

And ye know that he was manifested to take away sins; and in him is no sin.

looking unto Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising shame, and hath sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

who was foreknown indeed before the foundation of the world, but was manifested at the end of the times for your sake,

And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as one dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying, Fear not; I am the first and the last,and the Living one; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive for evermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.

And there appeared unto him an angel from heaven, strengthening him.

And Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

But without any dispute the less is blessed of the better.

and upon her forehead a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF THE HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands upon thousands: The Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the sanctuary.Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led away captives; Thou hast received gifts among men, Yea, among the rebellious also, that Jehovah God might dwell with them.

The Lord Jehovah hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away backward.I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair; I hid not my face from shame and spitting.For the Lord Jehovah will help me; therefore have I not been confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be put to shame.

when he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be marvelled at in all them that believed( because our testimony unto you was believed) in that day.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.The same was in the beginning with God.

For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek: for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich unto all that call upon him:

And it became known to all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch that in their language that field was called Akeldama, that is, The field of blood.)

For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

And entering into the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, arrayed in a white robe; and they were amazed.

And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he parted from them, and was carried up into heaven.

A light for revelation to the Gentiles, And the glory of thy people Israel.

how that by revelation was made known unto me the mystery, as I wrote before in few words,whereby, when ye read, ye can perceive my understanding in the mystery of Christ;which in other generations was not made known unto the sons of men, as it hath now been revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit;to wit, that the Gentiles are fellow- heirs, and fellow- members of the body, and fellow- partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel,whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of that grace of God which was given me according to the working of his power.Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, was this grace given, to preach unto the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;and to make all men see what is the dispensation of the mystery which for ages hath been hid in God who created all things;to the intent that now unto the principalities and the powers in the heavenly places might be made known through the church the manifold wisdom of God,

The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is of heaven.

that their hearts may be comforted, they being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, that they may know the mystery of God, even Christ,

but when the fulness of the time came, God sent forth his Son, born of a woman, born under the law,

Then the devil leaveth him; and behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

For the mystery of lawlessness doth already work: only there is one that restraineth now, until he be taken out of the way.

And the angel said unto them, Be not afraid; for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be to all the people:for there is born to you this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord.And this is the sign unto you: Ye shall find a babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, and lying in a manger.And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace among men in whom he is well pleased.

Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

And he was in the wilderness forty days tempted of Satan; and he was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him.

Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he came forth from God, and goeth unto God,

But we behold him who hath been made a little lower than the angels, even Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that by the grace of God he should taste of death for every man.For it became him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the author of their salvation perfect through sufferings.For both he that sanctifieth and they that are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, In the midst of the congregation will I sing thy praise.And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold, I and the children whom God hath given me.

And John bare witness, saying, I have beheld the Spirit descending as a dove out of heaven; and it abode upon him.And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize in water, he said unto me, Upon whomsoever thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and abiding upon him, the same is he that baptizeth in the Holy Spirit.

which is come unto you; even as it is also in all the world bearing fruit and increasing, as it doth in you also, since the day ye heard and knew the grace of God in truth;

After these things I saw, and behold, a great multitude, which no man could number, out of every nation and of all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, arrayed in white robes, and palms in their hands;

Behold, the days come, saith Jehovah, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely; and this is his name whereby he shall be called: Jehovah our righteousness.

And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled away the stone, and sat upon it.

and she beholdeth two angels in white sitting, one at the head, and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.

I came out from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go unto the Father.

And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all things that God had done with them, and that he had opened a door of faith unto the Gentiles.

The former treatise I made, O Theophilus, concerning all that Jesus began both to do and to teach,until the day in which he was received up, after that he had given commandment through the Holy Spirit unto the apostles whom he had chosen:to whom he also showed himself alive after his passion by many proofs, appearing unto them by the space of forty days, and speaking the things concerning the kingdom of God:and, being assembled together with them, he charged them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, said he, ye heard from me:For John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized in the Holy Spirit not many days hence.They therefore, when they were come together, asked him, saying, Lord, dost thou at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?And he said unto them, It is not for you to know times or seasons, which the Father hath set within his own authority.But ye shall receive power, when the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judæa and Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.And when he had said these things, as they were looking, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.And while they were looking stedfastly into heaven as he went, behold two men stood by them in white apparel;who also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye looking into heaven? this Jesus, who was received up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye beheld him going into heaven.

making known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he purposed in him

And now, Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall bear witness of me:

( for he that wrought for Peter unto the apostleship of the circumcision wrought for me also unto the Gentiles);

And Paul and Barnabas spake out boldly, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first be spoken to you. Seeing ye thrust it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee for a light of the Gentiles, That thou shouldest be for salvation unto the uttermost part of the earth.And as the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of God: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.

What then if ye should behold the Son of man ascending where he was before?

But thou, Beth- lehem Ephrathah, which art little to be among the thousands of Judah, out of thee shall one come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting.

who, existing in the form of God, counted not the being on an equality with God a thing to be grasped,but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men;and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, becoming obedient even unto death, yea, the death of the cross.

to whom God was pleased to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

but we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, even the wisdom that hath been hidden, which God foreordained before the worlds unto our glory:

And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou wonder? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and the ten horns.

And he, when he is come, will convict the world in respect of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:of sin, because they believe not on me;

But I say, Did they not hear? Yea, verily, Their sound went out into all the earth, And their words unto the ends of the world.

concerning his Son, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh,who was declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead; even Jesus Christ our Lord,

Now in the things which we are saying the chief point is this: We have such a high priest, who sat down on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,

Because Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God; being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;
