For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,

上帝惟一、有上帝、有世人、其間中保亦惟一、基督耶穌即其人也、

蓋天主惟一、在天主世人之間、中保亦惟一、即降世為人之基督耶穌、

夫天主一而已矣、而介居天主與人之間者、亦一而已矣、則基督耶穌其人也。

For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus,

There is only one God. And there is only one go- between for God and human beings. He is the man Christ Jesus.

Now a mediator does not mediate for one only, but God is one.

“ Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one!

And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.

Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.

“ Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel, And his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts:‘ I am the First and I am the Last; Besides Me there is no God.

who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God,but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.

Or is He the God of the Jews only? Is He not also the God of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also,since there is one God who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith.

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Then the angel said to them,“ Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him.

And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.

But one testified in a certain place, saying:“ What is man that You are mindful of him, Or the son of man that You take care of him?You have made him a little lower than the angels; You have crowned him with glory and honor, And set him over the works of Your hands.You have put all things in subjection under his feet.” For in that He put all in subjection under him, He left nothing that is not put under him. But now we do not yet see all things put under him.But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone.For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.For both He who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all of one, for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren,saying:“ I will declare Your name to My brethren; In the midst of the assembly I will sing praise to You.”And again:“ I will put My trust in Him.” And again:“ Here am I and the children whom God has given Me.”

and in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and girded about the chest with a golden band.

“ Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated,“ God with us.”

Nor is there any mediator between us, Who may lay his hand on us both.

Jesus answered him,“ The first of all the commandments is:‘ Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment.And the second, like it, is this:‘ You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”So the scribe said to Him,“ Well said, Teacher. You have spoken the truth, for there is one God, and there is no other but He.And to love Him with all the heart, with all the understanding, with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is more than all the whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.”

Therefore concerning the eating of things offered to idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no other God but one.

But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.

one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

And so it is written,“ The first man Adam became a living being.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural, and afterward the spiritual.The first man was of the earth, made of dust; the second Man is the Lord from heaven.
