For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus,

上帝惟一、有上帝、有世人、其間中保亦惟一、基督耶穌即其人也、

蓋天主惟一、在天主世人之間、中保亦惟一、即降世為人之基督耶穌、

夫天主一而已矣、而介居天主與人之間者、亦一而已矣、則基督耶穌其人也。

For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus,

There is only one God. And there is only one go- between for God and human beings. He is the man Christ Jesus.

“ Hear, Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one!

For this reason He is the mediator of a new covenant, so that, since a death has taken place for the redemption of the violations that were committed under the first covenant, those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.

Therefore He is also able to save forever those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.

“ This is what the Lord says, He who is the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of armies:‘ I am the first and I am the last, And there is no God besides Me.

who, as He already existed in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,but emptied Himself by taking the form of a bond servant and being born in the likeness of men.And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death: death on a cross.

Or is God the God of Jews only? Is He not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also,since indeed God who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith is one.

And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us; and we saw His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

And so the angel said to them,“ Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people;for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him;

And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks better than the blood of Abel.

But someone has testified somewhere, saying,“ What is man, that You think of him? Or a son of man, that You are concerned about him?You have made him for a little while lower than angels; You have crowned him with glory and honor;You have put everything in subjection under his feet.” For in subjecting all things to him, He left nothing that is not subject to him. But now we do not yet see all things subjected to him.But we do see Him who was made for a little while lower than the angels, namely, Jesus, because of His suffering death crowned with glory and honor, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone.For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to perfect the originator of their salvation through sufferings.For both He who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one Father; for this reason He is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters,saying,“ I will proclaim Your name to My brothers, In the midst of the assembly I will sing Your praise.”And again,“ I will put My trust in Him.” And again,“ Behold, I and the children whom God has given Me.”

and in the middle of the lampstands I saw one like a son of man, clothed in a robe reaching to the feet, and wrapped around the chest with a golden sash.

“ Behold, the virgin will conceive and give birth to a Son, and they shall name Him Immanuel,” which translated means,“ God with us.”

There is no arbitrator between us, Who can place his hand upon us both.

Jesus answered,“ The foremost is,‘ Hear, Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one;and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’The second is this:‘ You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”And the scribe said to Him,“ Well said, Teacher; You have truly stated that He is One, and there is no other besides Him;and to love Him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is much more than all the burnt offerings and sacrifices.”

Therefore, concerning the eating of food sacrificed to idols, we know that an idol is nothing at all in the world, and that there is no God but one.

But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, to the extent that He is also the mediator of a better covenant, which has been enacted on better promises.

one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all.

So also it is written:“ The first man, Adam, became a living person.” The last Adam was a life giving spirit.However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural; then the spiritual.The first man is from the earth, earthy; the second man is from heaven.
