But( which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.

只要有善行，这才与自称是敬神的女人相宜。

要有善行，这才与自称为敬畏上帝的女人相称。

要有善行，这才与自称为敬畏神的女人相称。

要有良好的行为，这样才配称为敬畏上帝的妇女。

却要以善行作装饰，这才配称为敬畏神的女人。

反而要用美善的行为，与称为敬神的女人相宜。

只要有善行，這才與自稱是敬神的女人相宜。

要有善行，這才與自稱為敬畏上帝的女人相稱。

要有善行，這才與自稱為敬畏神的女人相稱。

要有良好的行為，這樣才配稱為敬畏上帝的婦女。

卻要以善行作裝飾，這才配稱為敬畏神的女人。

乃是要用善行來妝飾：這才是自許為敬拜上帝的女人所適合作的。

反而要用美善的行為，與稱為敬神的女人相宜。

惟由善行、乃自許為虔敬者所宜、

惟務善行、乃崇拜上帝者所宜、

惟以行善為飾、此乃自稱敬天主之婦女所宜、

吾望服膺聖教之婦人、皆能以懿德琦行自飾也。

but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.

Instead, they should put on good works as if good works were their clothes. This is proper for women who claim to worship God.

but with what is proper for women who profess godliness— with good works.

For women who claim to be devoted to God should make themselves attractive by the good things they do.

but with good works, as is proper for women who profess to worship God.

but rather by means of good works, as is proper for women making a claim to godliness.

but, which is proper for women professing godliness, with good works.

but( which becometh women professing godliness) through good works.

but with good works, as is proper for women who affirm that they worship God.

but with good deeds, as is proper for women who profess reverence for God.

but with good works, which is appropriate for women professing godliness.

Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by[ your] good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.

I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last[ to be] more than the first.

Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.

[ Seeing] then[ that] all these things shall be dissolved, what manner[ of persons] ought ye to be in[ all] holy conversation and godliness,

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.

Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth.And these things give in charge, that they may be blameless.But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.Let not a widow be taken into the number under threescore years old, having been the wife of one man,Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints’ feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work.
