understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers,

For the law was not intended for people who do what is right. It is for people who are lawless and rebellious, who are ungodly and sinful, who consider nothing sacred and defile what is holy, who kill their father or mother or commit other murders.

「如果連義人都好不容易得救，那麼，不敬神的人和罪人將會怎麼樣呢？」

律法出現，為要使過犯增多；可是，罪在哪裡增多，恩典就在哪裡格外增多。

那麼，為什麼要有律法呢？律法是為了過犯的緣故被加上的，直到那蒙應許的後裔來臨；律法是藉著天使，通過中保的手所規定的。

凡是本於律法上行為的人，都在詛咒之下，因為經上記著：「任何人不持守、不遵行律法書上所記載的一切，都是被詛咒的。」所以，明顯地沒有人能藉著律法在神面前被稱為義，因為經上說：「義人將因信而活。」律法不是本於信，但是「遵行這些事的人，將因此而活。」基督替我們成了詛咒，從律法的詛咒中救贖了我們，因為經上記著：「凡是被掛在木頭上的，都是被詛咒的。」這是為了讓亞伯拉罕所蒙的祝福，能在基督耶穌裡臨到外邦人，好使我們能藉著信領受所應許的聖靈。

溫柔、自制。這樣的事，沒有律法反對。

他們聲稱認識神，卻在行為上否認他。他們是可憎惡的、悖逆的，在任何美善的工作上都經不起考驗。

其實，我們從前也是無知、悖逆、被迷惑的，做各種欲望和享樂的奴僕，活在惡毒和嫉妒中，是可憎惡的，又彼此相恨。

誹謗人、憎恨神、侮慢人、驕傲、自誇、製造惡行、悖逆父母、

詛咒自己父母的，他的燈將在極深的黑暗中熄滅。

嘲笑父親，藐視而不順從母親的，他的眼睛將被溪谷的烏鴉挖出來，被鷹雛吃掉。

背負殺人流血之罪的，會一直逃亡到陰坑；誰也不要扶持他！

這樣，罪就不能轄制你們了，因為你們不在律法之下，而在恩典之下。

就是從前在挪亞建造方舟的那些日子裡，在神耐心等待的時候那些不肯信從的靈魂。當時進入方舟，藉著水獲救的人很少，只有八個人。

原來，賜給亞伯拉罕和他後裔繼承世界的應許，不是藉著律法，而是藉著因信而得的義。

那些犬類、行邪術的、淫亂的、殺人的、拜偶像的，以及所有愛虛假、行虛假的人，都在外面。

這世代詛咒自己的父親，也不祝福自己的母親。

大衛對亞比篩和所有的臣僕說：「看哪，我親生的兒子尚且尋索我的性命，更何況這便雅憫的子孫呢！由他吧，讓他咒罵！因為是耶和華吩咐了他。

又免得有淫亂的，或像以掃那樣不敬神的。以掃為了一點食物，就把自己長子的名份賣了；

然後這不法之人要被顯露出來。主耶穌要以自己口中的氣殺掉他，藉著自己來臨的顯現除去他。

「兄弟將要把兄弟出賣，置於死地；父親對孩子也會這樣。兒女會起來與父母作對，並且害死他們。

嫉妒、凶殺、醉酒、荒宴以及類似這樣的事。對這些事，我現在要預先告訴你們，就像我以前告訴過你們的那樣：行這些事的人不會繼承神的國。

搶奪自己父母卻說「沒犯罪」的，這人是毀滅者的同伴。

亞希多弗對押沙龍說：「請讓我挑選一萬兩千人，今夜就動身追趕大衛。我要趁他困倦手發軟的時候追上他，讓他恐慌，這樣隨同他的人都會逃跑。我只擊殺王，讓所有人都歸順你，就像他們曾都歸順你所尋索的那人一樣；所有人必平安無事。」這建議在押沙龍和以色列所有長老眼中都看為好。

這樣，對你們信的人來說，他是尊貴的；但是對那些不信的人來說，卻是「工匠所棄絕的石頭，它已經成了房角的頭塊石頭。」

因著信，妓女瑞荷在平安中接納了偵察的人，沒有和那些不肯信從的人一同滅亡。

至於你們的生命之血，我必為你們追討：我要向野獸追討，我也要向人，甚至向各人的兄弟追討人命。那殺人流血的，他必被殺流血，因為神是按照自己的形像造人的。

但那些膽怯的、不信的、可憎的、殺人的、淫亂的、行邪術的、拜偶像的，和所有說謊的人，他們的份就在燃燒著烈火和硫磺的湖裡。這是第二次的死亡。」
