務望篤守信德、確保良心為要；頗有數輩因良心之泯滅、而信德亦隨以傾覆；

Then you will hold on to faith. You will hold on to a good sense of what is right and wrong. Some have not accepted this knowledge of right and wrong. So they have destroyed their faith. They are like a ship that has sunk.

Because thou didst keep the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of trial, that hour which is to come upon the whole world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with you.

But the end of the charge is love out of a pure heart and a good conscience and faith unfeigned:

But there arose false prophets also among the people, as among you also there shall be false teachers, who shall privily bring in destructive heresies, denying even the Master that bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.And many shall follow their lascivious doings; by reason of whom the way of the truth shall be evil spoken of.And in covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose sentence now from of old lingereth not, and their destruction slumbereth not.

For there must be also factions among you, that they that are approved may be made manifest among you.

for we are become partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our confidence firm unto the end:

But these, as creatures without reason, born mere animals to be taken and destroyed, railing in matters whereof they are ignorant, shall in their destroying surely be destroyed,suffering wrong as the hire of wrong- doing; men that count it pleasure to revel in the day- time, spots and blemishes, revelling in their deceivings while they feast with you;having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; enticing unstedfast souls; having a heart exercised in covetousness; children of cursing;forsaking the right way, they went astray, having followed the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the hire of wrong- doing;but he was rebuked for his own transgression: a dumb ass spake with man’s voice and stayed the madness of the prophet.These are springs without water, and mists driven by a storm; for whom the blackness of darkness hath been reserved.For, uttering great swelling words of vanity, they entice in the lusts of the flesh, by lasciviousness, those who are just escaping from them that live in error;promising them liberty, while they themselves are bondservants of corruption; for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he also brought into bondage.For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein and overcome, the last state is become worse with them than the first.For it were better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after knowing it, to turn back from the holy commandment delivered unto them.It has happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog turning to his own vomit again, and the sow that had washed to wallowing in the mire.

I marvel that ye are so quickly removing from him that called you in the grace of Christ unto a different gospel;which is not another gospel: only there are some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.But though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach unto you any gospel other than that which we preached unto you, let him be anathema.

and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside unto fables.

But the Spirit saith expressly, that in later times some shall fall away from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons,through the hypocrisy of men that speak lies, branded in their own conscience as with a hot iron;

but sanctify in your hearts Christ as Lord: being ready always to give answer to every man that asketh you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, yet with meekness and fear:having a good conscience; that, wherein ye are spoken against, they may be put to shame who revile your good manner of life in Christ.

For many walk, of whom I told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:whose end is perdition, whose god is the belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.

But know this, that in the last days grievous times shall come.For men shall be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, haughty, railers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,without natural affection, implacable, slanderers, without self- control, fierce, no lovers of good,traitors, headstrong, puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God;holding a form of godliness, but having denied the power thereof: from these also turn away.For of these are they that creep into houses, and take captive silly women laden with sins, led away by divers lusts,

Ye are severed from Christ, ye who would be justified by the law; ye are fallen away from grace.

And which of you by being anxious can add one cubit unto the measure of his life?

Remember therefore how thou hast received and didst hear; and keep it, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
