We are traveling together to guard against any criticism for the way we are handling this generous gift.We are careful to be honorable before the Lord, but we also want everyone else to see that we are honorable.

We live in such a way that no one will stumble because of us, and no one will find fault with our ministry.

Never pay back evil with more evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable.

So if what I eat causes another believer to sin, I will never eat meat again as long as I live— for I don’t want to cause another believer to stumble.

Rescue others by snatching them from the flames of judgment. Show mercy to still others, but do so with great caution, hating the sins that contaminate their lives.

Then people who are not believers will respect the way you live, and you will not need to depend on others.
