For what thanksgiving can we return to God for you, for all the joy that we feel for your sake before our God,

We thank God always for all of you as we mention you constantly in our prayers,because we recall in the presence of our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and endurance of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

You shall rejoice before him– you, your son, your daughter, your male and female slaves, the Levites in your villages, the resident foreigners, the orphans, and the widows among you– in the place where the LORD chooses to locate his name.

You must by all means destroy all the places where the nations you are about to dispossess worship their gods– on the high mountains and hills and under every leafy tree.

So in all our distress and affliction, we were reassured about you, brothers and sisters, through your faith.For now we are alive again, if you stand firm in the Lord.

For who is our hope or joy or crown to boast of before our Lord Jesus at his coming? Is it not of course you?

King David went in, sat before the LORD, and said,“ Who am I, O LORD God, and what is my family, that you should have brought me to this point?And you didn’t stop there, O LORD God! You have also spoken about the future of your servant’s family. Is this your usual way of dealing with men, O LORD God?What more can David say to you? You have given your servant special recognition, O LORD God!

The Levites– Jeshua, Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabneiah, Sherebiah, Hodiah, Shebaniah, and Pethahiah– said,“ Stand up and bless the LORD your God!”“ May you be blessed, O LORD our God, from age to age. May your glorious name be blessed; may it be lifted up above all blessing and praise.

But the godly are happy; they rejoice before God and are overcome with joy.

David replied to Michal,“ It was before the LORD! I was celebrating before the LORD, who chose me over your father and his entire family and appointed me as leader over the LORD’s people Israel.

But thanks be to God who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and who makes known through us the fragrance that consists of the knowledge of him in every place.
