Therefore, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith:

兄弟乎、故我於諸顚沛患難中、因爾之信而受慰、

故我患難顛沛中、念兄弟信主、為爾受慰、

故我儕於諸患難窘迫之中、念兄弟之信、則因爾受慰、

兄弟乎、吾於艱苦重重之際、得聞爾等之信德、不勝欣慰、樂以忘憂。

Therefore, brothers and sisters, in all our distress and persecution we were encouraged about you because of your faith.

Brothers and sisters, in all our trouble and suffering your faith encouraged us.

for this reason, brothers, in all our distress and affliction we have been comforted about you through your faith.

So we have been greatly encouraged in the midst of our troubles and suffering, dear brothers and sisters, because you have remained strong in your faith.

Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.We[ are] fools for Christ’s sake, but ye[ are] wise in Christ; we[ are] weak, but ye[ are] strong; ye[ are] honourable, but we[ are] despised.Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwellingplace;And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it:Being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of the world,[ and are] the offscouring of all things unto this day.

But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of[ them] all the Lord delivered me.Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

Therefore we were comforted in your comfort: yea, and exceedingly the more joyed we for the joy of Titus, because his spirit was refreshed by you all.

Are they ministers of Christ?( I speak as a fool) I[ am] more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft.Of the Jews five times received I forty[ stripes] save one.Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;[ In] journeyings often,[ in] perils of waters,[ in] perils of robbers,[ in] perils by[ mine own] countrymen,[ in] perils by the heathen,[ in] perils in the city,[ in] perils in the wilderness,[ in] perils in the sea,[ in] perils among false brethren;In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches.

And some of them believed, and consorted with Paul and Silas; and of the devout Greeks a great multitude, and of the chief women not a few.But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people.And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also;Whom Jason hath received: and these all do contrary to the decrees of Caesar, saying that there is another king,[ one] Jesus.And they troubled the people and the rulers of the city, when they heard these things.And when they had taken security of Jason, and of the other, they let them go.And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming[ thither] went into the synagogue of the Jews.

Nevertheless God, that comforteth those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus;And not by his coming only, but by the consolation wherewith he was comforted in you, when he told us your earnest desire, your mourning, your fervent mind toward me; so that I rejoiced the more.

For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord.For what thanks can we render to God again for you, for all the joy wherewith we joy for your sakes before our God;
