西拉和提摩太從馬其頓下來的時候，保羅就專心傳揚主的道，向猶太人極力證明耶穌是基督。

來自遠方的好消息，好像疲乏的人得喝涼水。

我是怎樣以基督耶穌的心腸，切切地想念你們眾人，這是神可以為我作證的。

那傳福音、宣布平安、傳美好的福音、宣布救恩，又對錫安說“你的神作王了”的，他的腳蹤在山上多麼的美！

我們從前到了馬其頓的時候，身體一點安寧也沒有，反而處處遭受患難，外面有爭戰，裡面有恐懼。但那安慰灰心的人的神，藉著提多來到，安慰了我們；不但藉著他來，也藉著他從你們所得的安慰，安慰了我們。他把你們的渴望、你們的哀慟和你們對我的熱誠，都告訴了我們，因此我就更加歡喜了。

弟兄們，我們應該常常為你們感謝神，這是合適的。因為你們的信心格外長進，你們眾人彼此相愛的心也在增加。

我保羅親筆問候你們。你們要記念我的捆鎖。願恩惠與你們同在。

這囑咐的目的是出於愛；這愛是發自純潔的心、無愧的良心和無偽的信心。

此後，保羅離開雅典，來到哥林多，

你們要記念那些被囚禁的人，好像跟他們一起被囚禁；也要記念那些受虐待的人，好像你們也親自受過。

弟兄們，你們應該記得我們的辛苦和勞碌；我們把神的福音傳給你們的時候，怎樣晝夜作工，免得你們有人受累。

因為在基督耶穌裡，受割禮或不受割禮，都沒有用處，唯有那藉著愛表達出來的信，才有用處。

因為聽見你們在基督耶穌裡的信心，和對眾聖徒的愛心。

我們因你們的緣故，在我們的神面前滿有喜樂；為這一切喜樂，我們可以為你們向神獻上怎麼樣的感謝呢！我們晝夜迫切祈求，要見你們的面，並且要補滿你們信心的不足。

你們要記念那些領導過你們，把神的道傳給你們的人；你們要觀察他們一生的成果，要效法他們的信心。

我感謝神，就是我像我祖先一樣，以清潔的良心所事奉的神，在禱告中晝夜不斷地記念你；

弟兄們，我們被迫暫時離開你們，不過是身體離開，心卻沒有離開。我們非常渴望再見到你們。

神的命令，就是要我們信他的兒子耶穌基督的名，並且照著他的吩咐彼此相愛。

現在常存的有信、望、愛這三樣，其中最大的是愛。
