我讚賞你們，因為你們凡事都想到我，並堅守我傳給你們的各種教導。

在我們的父上帝面前不斷地想到你們因信我們主耶穌基督而做的工作、因愛祂而受的勞苦和因祂所賜的盼望而激發的忍耐。

西拉和提摩太從馬其頓來了之後，保羅就把全部時間都用來傳道，向猶太人證明耶穌是基督。

有好消息從遠方傳來，如涼水滋潤乾渴的人。

上帝可以作證，我是怎樣以基督耶穌的慈愛之心想念你們。

那穿山越嶺之人的腳蹤是何等佳美！他帶來佳音，報告平安，傳遞喜訊，宣佈救恩，對錫安說：「你的上帝做王了。」

我們到馬其頓的時候，身心無法安歇，面臨著重重患難，外有衝突，內有恐懼。但安慰沮喪之人的上帝藉著提多的到來激勵了我們。我們得到激勵，不但是因為提多來了，也因為看到他從你們那裡得到了激勵。他把你們對我的想念、對我的熱心以及你們的哀痛都告訴了我，這使我更加歡喜。

弟兄姊妹，我們應當為你們常常感謝上帝，這是合宜的，因為你們的信心不斷增長，彼此相愛的心也不斷增加。

我保羅親筆問候你們。請你們不要忘記獄中的我。願上帝的恩典常與你們同在！

制止這些人的目的是為了愛，這愛來自於清潔的心、無虧的良心和真實無偽的信心。

這事之後，保羅離開雅典前往哥林多，

要設身處地地顧念那些被囚禁的人，要感同身受地顧念那些遭遇苦難的人。

弟兄姊妹，你們一定記得我們的勞苦和艱難。我們一面向你們傳福音，一面晝夜辛勤工作，免得成為你們任何人的負擔。

我們既然已經在基督耶穌裡，受不受割禮根本無關緊要，藉著愛表現出來的信心才至關重要。

你們使我們在上帝面前感到非常喜樂，我們該怎樣為你們感謝上帝呢！我們晝夜懇切禱告，渴望能見到你們，彌補你們信心的不足之處。

你們要記住從前帶領你們、把上帝的道傳給你們的人，留心觀察他們一生如何行事為人，效法他們的信心。

我日夜不停地為你禱告，對我效法祖先用清潔的良心事奉的上帝充滿了感恩。

因為我聽說了你對主耶穌的信心和對眾聖徒的愛心。

弟兄姊妹，我們暫時與你們分離，心靈卻與你們在一起。我們非常渴望見到你們。

其實上帝的命令是：我們要信祂兒子耶穌基督的名，遵照祂的命令彼此相愛。

如今常存的有信、望、愛這三樣，其中最偉大的是愛。
