We were not looking for praise from people, not from you or anyone else, even though as apostles of Christ we could have asserted our authority.

We were not expecting people to praise us. We were not looking for praise from you or anyone else. Yet as Christ’s apostles, we could have used our authority over you.

Nor did we seek glory from people, whether from you or from others, though we could have made demands as apostles of Christ.

As for human praise, we have never sought it from you or anyone else.

nor did we seek honor from people, either from you or from others, though we could have asserted our authority as apostles of Christ.

Nor did we seek glory from men, either from you or from others, when we might have made demands as apostles of Christ.

nor seeking glory of men, neither from you nor from others, when we might have claimed authority as apostles of Christ.

and we didn’t seek glory from people, either from you or from others.

Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor[ yet] of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ.

nor to seek glory from people, either from you or from others,

nor seeking glory from men( neither from you nor from others), when we might have claimed authority as apostles of Christ.

How can you believe, since you accept glory from one another but don’t seek the glory that comes from the only God?

“ I do not accept glory from people,

For this reason, although I have great boldness in Christ to command you to do what is right,I appeal to you, instead, on the basis of love. I, Paul, as an elderly man and now also as a prisoner of Christ Jesus,

For am I now trying to persuade people, or God? Or am I striving to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.

For you remember our labor and hardship, brothers and sisters. Working night and day so that we would not burden any of you, we preached God’s gospel to you.

Am I not free? Am I not an apostle? Have I not seen Jesus our Lord? Are you not my work in the Lord?If I am not an apostle to others, at least I am to you, because you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord.

If others have this right to receive benefits from you, don’t we even more? Nevertheless, we have not made use of this right; instead, we endure everything so that we will not hinder the gospel of Christ.Don’t you know that those who perform the temple services eat the food from the temple, and those who serve at the altar share in the offerings of the altar?In the same way, the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should earn their living by the gospel.For my part I have used none of these rights, nor have I written these things that they may be applied in my case. For it would be better for me to die than for anyone to deprive me of my boast!For if I preach the gospel, I have no reason to boast, because I am compelled to preach— and woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!For if I do this willingly, I have a reward, but if unwillingly, I am entrusted with a commission.What then is my reward? To preach the gospel and offer it free of charge and not make full use of my rights in the gospel.

For we are not proclaiming ourselves but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’s sake.

Don’t we have the right to eat and drink?Don’t we have the right to be accompanied by a believing wife like the other apostles, the Lord’s brothers, and Cephas?Or do only Barnabas and I have no right to refrain from working?

Now I, Paul, myself, appeal to you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ— I who am humble among you in person but bold toward you when absent.I beg you that when I am present I will not need to be bold with the confidence by which I plan to challenge certain people who think we are living according to the flesh.

the king exclaimed,“ Is this not Babylon the Great that I have built to be a royal residence by my vast power and for my majestic glory?”

For it is said,“ His letters are weighty and powerful, but his physical presence is weak and his public speaking amounts to nothing.”Let such a person consider this: What we are in our letters, when we are absent, we will also be in our actions when we are present.

Then Haman described for them his glorious wealth and his many sons. He told them all how the king had honored him and promoted him in rank over the other officials and the royal staff.

For now we live, if you stand firm in the Lord.How can we thank God for you in return for all the joy we experience before our God because of you,

It is not good to eat too much honey or to seek glory after glory.

The one who speaks on his own seeks his own glory; but he who seeks the glory of the one who sent him is true, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

Neither was man created for the sake of woman, but woman for the sake of man.
