For our exhortation does not come from error or impurity or by way of deceit;

蓋吾儕所持以勸人者、真實無妄、純潔無邪、而光明正大也。

For the appeal we make does not spring from error or impure motives, nor are we trying to trick you.

The appeal we make is based on truth. It comes from a pure heart. We are not trying to trick you.

For our appeal does not spring from error or impurity or any attempt to deceive,

So you can see we were not preaching with any deceit or impure motives or trickery.

but we have renounced the things hidden because of shame, not walking in trickery nor distorting the word of God, but by the open proclamation of the truth commending ourselves to every person’s conscience in the sight of God.

For we are not like the many, peddling the word of God, but as from sincerity, but as from God, we speak in Christ in the sight of God.

For God has not called us for impurity, but in sanctification.

For we never came with flattering speech, as you know, nor with a pretext for greed— God is our witness—nor did we seek honor from people, either from you or from others, though we could have asserted our authority as apostles of Christ.

I have coveted no one’s silver or gold or clothes.You yourselves know that these hands served my own needs and the men who were with me.

But be that as it may, I did not burden you myself; nevertheless, devious person that I am, I took you in by deceit.Certainly I have not taken advantage of you through any of those whom I have sent to you, have I?I urged Titus to go, and I sent the brother with him. Titus did not take any advantage of you, did he? Did we not conduct ourselves in the same spirit and walk in the same steps?

Make room for us in your hearts; we have wronged no one, we corrupted no one, we have taken advantage of no one.

Then Moses became very angry and said to the Lord,“ Pay no attention to their offering! I have not taken a single donkey from them, nor have I done harm to any of them.”

Here I am; testify against me before the Lord and His anointed. Whose ox have I taken, or whose donkey have I taken, or whom have I exploited? Whom have I oppressed, or from whose hand have I taken a bribe to close my eyes with it? I will return it to you.”

For we did not follow cleverly devised tales when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of His majesty.

Finally then, brothers and sisters, we request and urge you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received instruction from us as to how you ought to walk and please God( just as you actually do walk), that you excel even more.For you know what instructions we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus.

For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.

For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false,

just as you know how we were exhorting and encouraging and imploring each one of you as a father would his own children,
