For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received[ it] not[ as] the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

是以我儕謝天主不已、因爾聞我儕所傳天主之道、爾受之、非視之如世人之道、乃視之為天主之道、是誠天主之道、力行於爾諸信者中、

且爾等一聞吾儕口授之天主福音、不以其為世俗之教、乃審知其實為天主聖道、而欣然納之。故聖道亦緣爾之篤信、而運其妙工於爾身；此尤吾儕之所引以為慰、而感謝天主不能自已者也。

And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe.

We never stop thanking God for the way you received his word. You heard it from us. But you didn’t accept it as a human word. You accepted it for what it really is. It is God’s word. It is really at work in you who believe.

And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers.

Therefore, we never stop thanking God that when you received his message from us, you didn’t think of our words as mere human ideas. You accepted what we said as the very word of God— which, of course, it is. And this word continues to work in you who believe.

This is why we constantly thank God, because when you received the word of God that you heard from us, you welcomed it not as a human message, but as it truly is, the word of God, which also works effectively in you who believe.

For the word of God[ is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and[ is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

So then faith[ cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

And my temptation which was in my flesh ye despised not, nor rejected; but received me as an angel of God,[ even] as Christ Jesus.

And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world,[ even] our faith.Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.

Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;

Then certain philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoicks, encountered him. And some said, What will this babbler say? other some, He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange gods: because he preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection.And they took him, and brought him unto Areopagus, saying, May we know what this new doctrine, whereof thou speakest,[ is]?For thou bringest certain strange things to our ears: we would know therefore what these things mean.

For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost:So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia.For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing.For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead,[ even] Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:

And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard[ us]: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.

Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed[ their] stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.

[ As for] the word that thou hast spoken unto us in the name of the LORD, we will not hearken unto thee.

And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.

Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:

The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What[ is] the chaff to the wheat? saith the LORD.[ Is] not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer[ that] breaketh the rock in pieces?

First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;

Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added[ unto them] about three thousand souls.

And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret,

And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.
