And for this cause we also thank God without ceasing, that, when ye received from us the word of the message, even the word of God, ye accepted it not as the word of men, but, as it is in truth, the word of God, which also worketh in you that believe.

是以我儕謝天主不已、因爾聞我儕所傳天主之道、爾受之、非視之如世人之道、乃視之為天主之道、是誠天主之道、力行於爾諸信者中、

且爾等一聞吾儕口授之天主福音、不以其為世俗之教、乃審知其實為天主聖道、而欣然納之。故聖道亦緣爾之篤信、而運其妙工於爾身；此尤吾儕之所引以為慰、而感謝天主不能自已者也。

And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe.

We never stop thanking God for the way you received his word. You heard it from us. But you didn’t accept it as a human word. You accepted it for what it really is. It is God’s word. It is really at work in you who believe.

And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers.

Therefore, we never stop thanking God that when you received his message from us, you didn’t think of our words as mere human ideas. You accepted what we said as the very word of God— which, of course, it is. And this word continues to work in you who believe.

This is why we constantly thank God, because when you received the word of God that you heard from us, you welcomed it not as a human message, but as it truly is, the word of God, which also works effectively in you who believe.

For the word of God is living, and active, and sharper than any two- edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and quick to discern the thoughts and intents of the heart.

So belief cometh of hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.

having been begotten again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the word of God, which liveth and abideth.

But the word of the Lord abideth for ever. And this is the word of good tidings which was preached unto you.

as newborn babes, long for the spiritual milk which is without guile, that ye may grow thereby unto salvation;

Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

Sanctify them in the truth: thy word is truth.

that ye should remember the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and the commandment of the Lord and Saviour through your apostles:

And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, one that worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened to give heed unto the things which were spoken by Paul.

Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

and brought them out and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus, and thou shalt be saved, thou and thy house.And they spake the word of the Lord unto him, with all that were in his house.And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, immediately.And he brought them up into his house, and set food before them, and rejoiced greatly, with all his house, having believed in God.

As for the word that thou hast spoken unto us in the name of Jehovah, we will not hearken unto thee.

And the next sabbath almost the whole city was gathered together to hear the word of God.But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with jealousy, and contradicted the things which were spoken by Paul, and blasphemed.And Paul and Barnabas spake out boldly, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first be spoken to you. First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is proclaimed throughout the whole world.For God is my witness, whom I serve in my spirit in the gospel of his Son, how unceasingly I make mention of you, always in my prayers

They then that received his word were baptized: and there were added unto them in that day about three thousand souls.

Now it came to pass, while the multitude pressed upon him and heard the word of God, that he was standing by the lake of Gennesaret;

And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, as ye go forth out of that house or that city, shake off the dust of your feet.
