and that our Good News came to you not in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and with much assurance. You know what kind of men we showed ourselves to be among you for your sake.

because our gospel came to you not simply with words but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake.

Our good news didn’t come to you only in words. It came with power. It came with the Holy Spirit’s help. He gave us complete faith in what we were preaching. You know how we lived among you for your good.

For when we brought you the Good News, it was not only with words but also with power, for the Holy Spirit gave you full assurance that what we said was true. And you know of our concern for you from the way we lived when we were with you.

For this cause we also thank God without ceasing, that when you received from us the word of the message of God, you accepted it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also works in you who believe.

For you know how you ought to imitate us. For we didn’t behave ourselves rebelliously among you,neither did we eat bread from anyone’s hand without paying for it, but in labor and travail worked night and day, that we might not burden any of you,not because we don’t have the right, but to make ourselves an example to you, that you should imitate us.

To them it was revealed, that they served not to themselves, but to you, in these things, which now have been announced to you through those who preached the Good News to you by the Holy Spirit sent out from heaven; which things angels desire to look into.

to which he called you through our Good News, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith,gentleness, and self- control. Against such things there is no law.

They went out, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word by the signs that followed. Amen.

I just want to learn this from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith?Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now completed in the flesh?Did you suffer so many things in vain, if it is indeed in vain?He therefore who supplies the Spirit to you and does miracles among you, does he do it by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith?

Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,

Don’t be deceived, my beloved brothers.Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, nor turning shadow.Of his own will he gave birth to us by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures.

that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have a strong encouragement, who have fled for refuge to take hold of the hope set before us.This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and entering into that which is within the veil;

Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, of the offspring of David, according to my Good News,

For God’s Kingdom is not in word, but in power.

The things which you learned, received, heard, and saw in me: do these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling.My speech and my preaching were not in persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,that your faith wouldn’t stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

Therefore I endure all things for the chosen ones’ sake, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

that their hearts may be comforted, they being knit together in love, and gaining all riches of the full assurance of understanding, that they may know the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ,

how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation— which at the first having been spoken through the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard,God also testifying with them, both by signs and wonders, by various works of power and by gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to his own will?

We desire that each one of you may show the same diligence to the fullness of hope even to the end,

For though I was free from all, I brought myself under bondage to all, that I might gain the more.To the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain those who are under the law;to those who are without law, as without law( not being without law toward God, but under law toward Christ), that I might win those who are without law.To the weak I became as weak, that I might gain the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I may by all means save some.Now I do this for the sake of the Good News, that I may be a joint partaker of it.

that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him,having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,and what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to that working of the strength of his mightwhich he worked in Christ, when he raised him from the dead and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places,

For I am not ashamed of the Good News of Christ, because it is the power of God for salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first, and also for the Greek.

Don’t you know that you are a temple of God, and that God’s Spirit lives in you?

who also made us sufficient as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter, but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

For you yourselves know, brothers, our visit to you wasn’t in vain,but having suffered before and been shamefully treated, as you know, at Philippi, we grew bold in our God to tell you the Good News of God in much conflict.For our exhortation is not of error, nor of uncleanness, nor in deception.But even as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the Good News, so we speak: not as pleasing men, but God, who tests our hearts.For neither were we at any time found using words of flattery, as you know, nor a cloak of covetousness( God is witness),nor seeking glory from men( neither from you nor from others), when we might have claimed authority as apostles of Christ.But we were gentle among you, like a nursing mother cherishes her own children.Even so, affectionately longing for you, we were well pleased to impart to you, not the Good News of God only, but also our own souls, because you had become very dear to us.For you remember, brothers, our labor and travail; for working night and day, that we might not burden any of you, we preached to you the Good News of God.You are witnesses with God how holy, righteously, and blamelessly we behaved ourselves toward you who believe.As you know, we exhorted, comforted, and implored every one of you, as a father does his own children,

in the day when God will judge the secrets of men, according to my Good News, by Jesus Christ.

but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God;

Therefore seeing we have this ministry, even as we obtained mercy, we don’t faint.But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by the manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.Even if our Good News is veiled, it is veiled in those who are dying,

But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us,even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ— by grace you have been saved—

We give no occasion of stumbling in anything, that our service may not be blamed,but in everything commending ourselves, as servants of God, in great endurance, in afflictions, in hardships, in distresses,in beatings, in imprisonments, in riots, in labors, in watchings, in fastings;in pureness, in knowledge, in perseverance, in kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in sincere love,in the word of truth, in the power of God; by the armor of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,by glory and dishonor, by evil report and good report; as deceivers, and yet true;as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold, we live; as punished, and not killed;as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them.

I went up by revelation, and I laid before them the Good News which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately before those who were respected, for fear that I might be running, or had run, in vain.

For it is God who works in you both to will and to work, for his good pleasure.

For I will not dare to speak of any things except those which Christ worked through me, for the obedience of the Gentiles, by word and deed,in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of God’s Spirit; so that from Jerusalem, and around as far as to Illyricum, I have fully preached the Good News of Christ;

For, I think that God has displayed us, the apostles, last of all, like men sentenced to death. For we are made a spectacle to the world, both to angels and men.We are fools for Christ’s sake, but you are wise in Christ. We are weak, but you are strong. You have honor, but we have dishonor.Even to this present hour we hunger, thirst, are naked, are beaten, and have no certain dwelling place.We toil, working with our own hands. When people curse us, we bless. Being persecuted, we endure.Being defamed, we entreat. We are made as the filth of the world, the dirt wiped off by all, even until now.

While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all those who heard the word.They of the circumcision who believed were amazed, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit was also poured out on the Gentiles.For they heard them speaking in other languages and magnifying God. Then Peter answered,

Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is to your advantage that I go away, for if I don’t go away, the Counselor won’t come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.When he has come, he will convict the world about sin, about righteousness, and about judgment;about sin, because they don’t believe in me;about righteousness, because I am going to my Father, and you won’t see me any more;about judgment, because the prince of this world has been judged.“ I still have many things to tell you, but you can’t bear them now.However when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak from himself; but whatever he hears, he will speak. He will declare to you things that are coming.He will glorify me, for he will take from what is mine, and will declare it to you.All things that the Father has are mine; therefore I said that he takes of mine and will declare it to you.

Let no man despise your youth; but be an example to those who believe, in word, in your way of life, in love, in spirit, in faith, and in purity.Until I come, pay attention to reading, to exhortation, and to teaching.Don’t neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the elders.Be diligent in these things. Give yourself wholly to them, that your progress may be revealed to all.Pay attention to yourself and to your teaching. Continue in these things, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.

so is my word that goes out of my mouth: it will not return to me void, but it will accomplish that which I please, and it will prosper in the thing I sent it to do.

A certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, one who worshiped God, heard us. The Lord opened her heart to listen to the things which were spoken by Paul.

even as I also please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of the many, that they may be saved.

But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the profit of all.For to one is given through the Spirit the word of wisdom, and to another the word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit;to another faith, by the same Spirit; and to another gifts of healings, by the same Spirit;and to another workings of miracles; and to another prophecy; and to another discerning of spirits; to another different kinds of languages; and to another the interpretation of languages.But the one and the same Spirit produces all of these, distributing to each one separately as he desires.

The hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number believed and turned to the Lord.

for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds,throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,

Therefore, brothers, be more diligent to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never stumble.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

I planted. Apollos watered. But God gave the increase.

I coveted no one’s silver, gold, or clothing.You yourselves know that these hands served my necessities, and those who were with me.In all things I gave you an example, that so laboring you ought to help the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said,‘ It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

Being therefore exalted by the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this, which you now see and hear.

When they had come to him, he said to them,“ You yourselves know, from the first day that I set foot in Asia, how I was with you all the time,serving the Lord with all humility, with many tears, and with trials which happened to me by the plots of the Jews;

But even though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you any“ good news” other than that which we preached to you, let him be cursed.As we have said before, so I now say again: if any man preaches to you any“ good news” other than that which you received, let him be cursed.For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? For if I were still pleasing men, I wouldn’t be a servant of Christ.But I make known to you, brothers, concerning the Good News which was preached by me, that it is not according to man.For I didn’t receive it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came to me through revelation of Jesus Christ.

As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them, even as on us at the beginning.I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said,‘ John indeed baptized in water, but you will be baptized in the Holy Spirit.’If then God gave to them the same gift as us, when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I, that I could withstand God?”When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying,“ Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life!”

For we, through the Spirit, by faith wait for the hope of righteousness.

We have the more sure word of prophecy; and you do well that you heed it, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns, and the morning star arises in your hearts:

In arrogance, the wicked hunt down the weak. They are caught in the schemes that they devise.For the wicked boasts of his heart’s cravings. He blesses the greedy and condemns Yahweh.

not as lording it over those entrusted to you, but making yourselves examples to the flock.

not by works of righteousness which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy, he saved us through the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,whom he poured out on us richly, through Jesus Christ our Savior;

let’s draw near with a true heart in fullness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and having our body washed with pure water,
