because our gospel came to you not simply with words but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake.

Our good news didn’t come to you only in words. It came with power. It came with the Holy Spirit’s help. He gave us complete faith in what we were preaching. You know how we lived among you for your good.

For you yourselves know how you ought to follow our example, because we did not act in an undisciplined way among you,nor did we eat anyone’s bread without paying for it, but with labor and hardship we kept working night and day so that we would not be a burden to any of you;not because we do not have the right to this, but in order to offer ourselves as a role model for you, so that you would follow our example.

It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves, but you, in these things which now have been announced to you through those who preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven— things into which angels long to look.

It was for this He called you through our gospel, that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,gentleness, self control; against such things there is no law.

And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them, and confirmed the word by the signs that followed.]][[ And they promptly reported all these instructions to Peter and his companions. And after that, Jesus Himself also sent out through them from east to west the sacred and imperishable proclamation of eternal salvation.]]

This is the only thing I want to find out from you: did you receive the Spirit by works of the Law, or by hearing with faith?Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?Did you suffer so many things in vain— if indeed it was in vain?So then, does He who provides you with the Spirit and works miracles among you, do it by works of the Law, or by hearing with faith?

Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us,

Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers and sisters.Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.In the exercise of His will He gave us birth by the word of truth, so that we would be a kind of first fruits among His creatures.

so that by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have taken refuge would have strong encouragement to hold firmly to the hope set before us.This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and reliable and one which enters within the veil,

Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, descendant of David, according to my gospel,

As for the things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.I also was with you in weakness and fear, and in great trembling,and my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,so that your faith would not rest on the wisdom of mankind, but on the power of God.

how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation? After it was at first spoken through the Lord, it was confirmed to us by those who heard,God also testifying with them, both by signs and wonders, and by various miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit according to His own will.

And we desire that each one of you demonstrate the same diligence so as to realize the full assurance of hope until the end,

Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we received mercy, we do not lose heart,but we have renounced the things hidden because of shame, not walking in trickery nor distorting the word of God, but by the open proclamation of the truth commending ourselves to every person’s conscience in the sight of God.And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,

But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,even when we were dead in our wrongdoings, made us alive together with Christ( by grace you have been saved),

giving no reason for taking offense in anything, so that the ministry will not be discredited,but in everything commending ourselves as servants of God, in much endurance, in afflictions, in hardships, in difficulties,in beatings, in imprisonments, in mob attacks, in labors, in sleeplessness, in hunger,in purity, in knowledge, in patience, in kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in genuine love,in the word of truth, and in the power of God; by the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and the left,by glory and dishonor, by evil report and good report; regarded as deceivers and yet true;as unknown and yet well known, as dying and yet behold, we are alive; as punished and yet not put to death,as sorrowful yet always rejoicing, as poor yet making many rich, as having nothing and yet possessing all things.

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

It was because of a revelation that I went up; and I submitted to them the gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but I did so in private to those who were of reputation, for fear that somehow I might be running, or had run, in vain.

for it is God who is at work in you, both to desire and to work for His good pleasure.

While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who were listening to the message.All the Jewish believers who came with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had also been poured out on the Gentiles.For they were hearing them speaking with tongues and exalting God. Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe.Until I come, give your attention to the public reading, to exhortation, and teaching.Do not neglect the spiritual gift within you, which was granted to you through words of prophecy with the laying on of hands by the council of elders.Take pains with these things; be absorbed in them, so that your progress will be evident to all.Pay close attention to yourself and to the teaching; persevere in these things, for as you do this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.

So will My word be which goes out of My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the purpose for which I sent it.

And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them just as He did upon us at the beginning.And I remembered the word of the Lord, how He used to say,‘ John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’Therefore, if God gave them the same gift as He also gave to us after believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could stand in God’s way?”When they heard this, they quieted down and glorified God, saying,“ Well then, God has also granted to the Gentiles the repentance that leads to life.”

For we, through the Spirit, by faith, are waiting for the hope of righteousness.

And so we have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts.

In arrogance the wicked hotly pursue the needy; Let them be caught in the plots which they have devised.For the wicked boasts of his soul’s desire, And the greedy person curses and shows disrespect to the Lord.

nor yet as domineering over those assigned to your care, but by proving to be examples to the flock.

He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we did in righteousness, but in accordance with His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,whom He richly poured out upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior,

let’s approach God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
