Saul replied,“ But I’m only from the tribe of Benjamin, the smallest tribe in Israel, and my family is the least important of all the families of that tribe! Why are you talking like this to me?”

扫罗答道：“我来自以色列最小的便雅悯支派，我的家族在便雅悯支派中最小，你何出此言？”

扫罗回答：“我不是以色列众支派中最微小的便雅悯人吗？我的家族不是便雅悯支派的家族中最微小的吗？你为什么对我说这样的话呢？”

扫罗回应说：“难道我不是出自以色列最小支派的本雅明人吗？我的家族不是本雅明支派所有家族中最微小的吗？你为什么对我说这样的话呢？”

掃羅說：「我不是以色列支派中至小的便雅憫人嗎？我家不是便雅憫支派中至小的家嗎？你為何對我說這樣的話呢？」

掃羅回答說：「我不是以色列支派中最小的便雅憫人嗎？我的家族不是便雅憫支派中最小的家族嗎？你為何對我說這樣的話呢？」

掃羅回答說：「我不是以色列支派中最小的便雅憫人嗎？我的家族不是便雅憫支派中最小的家族嗎？你為何對我說這樣的話呢？」

掃羅答道：「我來自以色列最小的便雅憫支派，我的家族在便雅憫支派中最小，你何出此言？」

掃羅回答：“我不是以色列眾支派中最微小的便雅憫人嗎？我的家族不是便雅憫支派的家族中最微小的嗎？你為甚麼對我說這樣的話呢？”

掃羅回答說：『我，我不是便雅憫人、以色列族派中至小的麼？我家不是便雅憫族派眾家中至微小的麼？你為甚麼對我說這樣的話呢？』

掃羅回應說：「難道我不是出自以色列最小支派的便雅憫人嗎？我的家族不是便雅憫支派所有家族中最微小的嗎？你為什麼對我說這樣的話呢？」

掃羅曰、我非便雅憫人、屬以色列支派之至小者乎、便雅憫支派諸家之中、我家非至微者乎、曷與我言若是、

掃羅曰、我便雅憫人也、以色列支派中、便雅憫族非至小乎。便雅憫族之最著者中、我家非至微乎。曷與我言若是。

掃羅曰、我非便雅憫人乎、便雅憫支派在以色列諸支派中、非至小者乎、我之家在便雅憫支派之諸家中、非至微者乎、何與我言若是、

Saul answered,“ But am I not a Benjamite, from the smallest tribe of Israel, and is not my clan the least of all the clans of the tribe of Benjamin? Why do you say such a thing to me?”

Saul answered,“ But I’m from the tribe of Benjamin. It’s the smallest tribe in Israel. And my family group is the least important in the whole tribe of Benjamin. So why are you saying that to me?”

Saul answered,“ Am I not a Benjaminite, from the least of the tribes of Israel? And is not my clan the humblest of all the clans of the tribe of Benjamin? Why then have you spoken to me in this way?”

Saul responded,“ Am I not a Benjaminite from the smallest of Israel’s tribes and isn’t my clan the least important of all the clans of the Benjaminite tribe? So why have you said something like this to me?”

Saul replied,“ Am I not a Benjaminite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel, and my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? Why then have you spoken to me in this way?”

And Saul answered and said,“ Am I not a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel, and my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? Why then do you speak like this to me?”

And Saul answered and said, Am not I a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel? and my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? wherefore then speakest thou to me after this manner?

Saul responded,“ Am I not a Benjaminite from the smallest of Israel’s tribes and isn’t my clan the least important of all the clans of the Benjaminite tribe? So why have you said something like this to me?”

And Saul answered and said,[ Am] not I a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel? and my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? wherefore then speakest thou so to me?

Saul replied,“ Am I not a Benjaminite, from the smallest of Israel’s tribes, and is not my family clan the smallest of all the tribes of Benjamin? Why do you speak to me in this way?”

Saul answered,“ Am I not a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel? And my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? Why then do you speak to me like this?”

And Samuel told him,“ Although you may think little of yourself, are you not the leader of the tribes of Israel? The Lord has anointed you king of Israel.

Look, the little tribe of Benjamin leads the way. Then comes a great throng of rulers from Judah and all the rulers of Zebulun and Naphtali.

So that day the tribe of Benjamin lost 25,000 strong warriors armed with swords,leaving only 600 men who escaped to the rock of Rimmon, where they lived for four months.And the Israelites returned and slaughtered every living thing in all the towns— the people, the livestock, and everything they found. They also burned down all the towns they came to.

When the tribe of Ephraim spoke, the people shook with fear, for that tribe was important in Israel. But the people of Ephraim sinned by worshiping Baal and thus sealed their destruction.

When Saul’s men said these things to David, he replied,“ How can a poor man from a humble family afford the bride price for the daughter of a king?”

Then the Lord turned to him and said,“ Go with the strength you have, and rescue Israel from the Midianites. I am sending you!”“ But Lord,” Gideon replied,“ how can I rescue Israel? My clan is the weakest in the whole tribe of Manasseh, and I am the least in my entire family!”

Though I am the least deserving of all God’s people, he graciously gave me the privilege of telling the Gentiles about the endless treasures available to them in Christ.

“ Who am I, and what is my family in Israel that I should be the king’s son in law?” David exclaimed.“ My father’s family is nothing!”

But there were some scoundrels who complained,“ How can this man save us?” And they scorned him and refused to bring him gifts. But Saul ignored them.[ Nahash, king of the Ammonites, had been grievously oppressing the people of Gad and Reuben who lived east of the Jordan River. He gouged out the right eye of each of the Israelites living there, and he didn’t allow anyone to come and rescue them. In fact, of all the Israelites east of the Jordan, there wasn’t a single one whose right eye Nahash had not gouged out. But there were 7,000 men who had escaped from the Ammonites, and they had settled in Jabesh gilead.]

For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”
