And when Samuel saw Saul, Jehovah said unto him, Behold, the man of whom I spake to thee! this same shall have authority over my people.

When Samuel caught sight of Saul, the Lord said to him,“ This is the man I spoke to you about; he will govern my people.”

When Samuel saw a man coming toward him, the Lord spoke to Samuel again. He said,“ He is the man I told you about. His name is Saul. He will govern my people.”

When Samuel saw Saul, the Lord told him,“ Here is the man of whom I spoke to you! He it is who shall restrain my people.”

When Samuel saw Saul, the Lord said,“ That’s the man I told you about! He will rule my people.”

When Samuel saw Saul, the LORD told him,“ Here is the man I told you about; he will govern my people.”

When Samuel saw Saul, the Lord said to him,“ Behold, the man of whom I spoke to you! This one shall rule over My people.”

So when Samuel saw Saul, the Lord said to him,“ There he is, the man of whom I spoke to you. This one shall reign over My people.”

When Samuel saw Saul, the Lord told him,“ Here is the man I told you about; he will rule over My people.”

And when Samuel saw Saul, the LORD said unto him, Behold the man whom I spake to thee of! this same shall reign over my people.

When Samuel saw Saul, Yahweh said to him,“ Behold, the man of whom I spoke to you! He will have authority over my people.”

I have given thee a king in mine anger, and have taken him away in my wrath.

And afterward they asked for a king: and God gave unto them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for the space of forty years.

For rulers are not a terror to the good work, but to the evil. And wouldest thou have no fear of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise from the same:for he is a minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is a minister of God, an avenger for wrath to him that doeth evil.

And it came to pass, when they were come, that he looked on Eliab, and said, Surely Jehovah’s anointed is before him.But Jehovah said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have rejected him: for Jehovah seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but Jehovah looketh on the heart.Then Jesse called Abinadab, and made him pass before Samuel. And he said, Neither hath Jehovah chosen this.Then Jesse made Shammah to pass by. And he said, Neither hath Jehovah chosen this.And Jesse made seven of his sons to pass before Samuel. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Jehovah hath not chosen these.And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he is keeping the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him; for we will not sit down till he come hither.And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look upon. And Jehovah said, Arise, anoint him; for this is he.

And it came to pass that, when the gates of Jerusalem began to be dark before the sabbath, I commanded that the doors should be shut, and commanded that they should not be opened till after the sabbath: and some of my servants set I over the gates, that there should no burden be brought in on the sabbath day.

For I have told him that I will judge his house for ever, for the iniquity which he knew, because his sons did bring a curse upon themselves, and he restrained them not.

And I contended with them, and cursed them, and smote certain of them, and plucked off their hair, and made them swear by God, saying, Ye shall not give your daughters unto their sons, nor take their daughters for your sons, or for yourselves.

But the ungodly shall be all of them as thorns to be thrust away, Because they cannot be taken with the hand;But the man that toucheth them Must be armed with iron and the staff of a spear: And they shall be utterly burned with fire in their place.
