And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.

说：“你年纪大了，你的儿子不效法你。现在求你为我们立一个王治理我们，像其他国家一样。”

对他说：“你老了，看哪，你的儿子不行你的道路，现在求你为我们立一个王治理我们，好像列国一样。”

对他说：“看哪，你老了，你的儿子们又不行你的道，所以请你为我们立一个王来治理我们，像其他国家那样。”

對他說：「你年紀老邁了，你兒子不行你的道。現在求你為我們立一個王治理我們，像列國一樣。」

對他說：『看哪，你年紀老了，你的兒子不行你的道路；現在你要為我們立個王來為我們審案，像列國一樣。』

對他說：「看哪，你老了，你的兒子們又不行你的道，所以請你為我們立一個王來治理我們，像其他國家那樣。」

曰、爾年已邁、爾子不行爾道、今當為我立王、聽我之訟、與列國同、

曰、爾年已邁、爾子不肖、請爾簡立一王、以治理我、無異他國。

They said to him,“ You are old, and your sons do not follow your ways; now appoint a king to lead us, such as all the other nations have.”

They said to him,“ You are old. Your sons don’t live as you do. So appoint a king to lead us. We want a king just like the kings all the other nations have.”

and said to him,“ Behold, you are old and your sons do not walk in your ways. Now appoint for us a king to judge us like all the nations.”

“ Look,” they told him,“ you are now old, and your sons are not like you. Give us a king to judge us like all the other nations have.”

They said to him,“ Look, you are old, and your sons do not walk in your ways. Therefore, appoint a king to judge us the same as all the other nations have.”

and they said to him,“ Behold, you have grown old, and your sons do not walk in your ways. Now appoint us a king to judge us like all the nations.”

and said to him,“ Look, you are old, and your sons do not walk in your ways. Now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.”

and they said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.

They said to him,“ Look, you are old, and your sons do not follow your example. Therefore, appoint a king to judge us the same as all the other nations have.”

They said to him,“ Look, you are old, and your sons don’t follow your ways. So now appoint over us a king to lead us, just like all the other nations have.”

They said to him,“ Behold, you are old, and your sons don’t walk in your ways. Now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.”

And afterward they desired a king: and God gave unto them Saul the son of Cis, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, by the space of forty years.

When thou art come unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, and shalt possess it, and shalt dwell therein, and shalt say, I will set a king over me, like as all the nations that[ are] about me;Thou shalt in any wise set[ him] king over thee, whom the LORD thy God shall choose:[ one] from among thy brethren shalt thou set king over thee: thou mayest not set a stranger over thee, which[ is] not thy brother.

For from the top of the rocks I see him, and from the hills I behold him: lo, the people shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations.

Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, Nay; but we will have a king over us;That we also may be like all the nations; and that our king may judge us, and go out before us, and fight our battles.

[ Is it] not wheat harvest to day? I will call unto the LORD, and he shall send thunder and rain; that ye may perceive and see that your wickedness[ is] great, which ye have done in the sight of the LORD, in asking you a king.

But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the LORD.And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they have forsaken me, and served other gods, so do they also unto thee.

I will be thy king: where[ is any other] that may save thee in all thy cities? and thy judges of whom thou saidst, Give me a king and princes?I gave thee a king in mine anger, and took[ him] away in my wrath.
