在盼望中要喜乐；在患难中要忍耐；祷告要恒切。

“因为你是属于耶和华—你神神圣的子民；耶和华—你的神从地面上的万民中拣选你，作自己宝贵的子民。

你们若属世界，世界会爱属自己的；只因你们不属世界，而是我从世界中拣选了你们，所以世界就恨你们。

反倒与列国相交，学习他们的行为，

不过，你们是被拣选的一族，是君尊的祭司，是神圣的国度，是属神的子民，要使你们宣扬那召你们出黑暗入奇妙光明者的美德。
