When they had assembled at Mizpah, they drew water and poured it out before the Lord. On that day they fasted and there they confessed,“ We have sinned against the Lord.” Now Samuel was serving as leader of Israel at Mizpah.

When the people had come together at Mizpah, they went to the well and got water. They poured it out in front of the Lord. On that day they didn’t eat any food. They admitted they had sinned. They said,“ We’ve sinned against the Lord.” Samuel was serving as the leader of Israel at Mizpah.

So they gathered at Mizpah and drew water and poured it out before the Lord and fasted on that day and said there,“ We have sinned against the Lord.” And Samuel judged the people of Israel at Mizpah.

So they gathered at Mizpah and, in a great ceremony, drew water from a well and poured it out before the Lord. They also went without food all day and confessed that they had sinned against the Lord.( It was at Mizpah that Samuel became Israel’s judge.)

籲耶和華曰、我棄我之上帝而事巴力、獲罪於爾、

吾儕必死、如水傾地、不能復收、上帝不奪人命、乃設法俾亡者得免驅逐、

願我首為水泉、我目為淚源、則可為我被戮之民女、旦夕哭泣、

哈拿曰、我主歟、非也、我乃憂心之婦、清酒醇醪不飲、惟於耶和華前傾我衷懷、

我與列祖同干罪戾、行邪作惡兮、

如在虜至之地、思念改悔、懇求於爾曰、我儕犯罪、悖逆作惡、

我將起而歸父、謂之曰、父歟、我獲罪於天及爾、

惟爾眾民、宜時恃之、傾心其前、上帝乃我儕之避所兮、

耶和華復諭約拿曰、起往尼尼微大邑、以我所命爾者宣之、約拿乃遵耶和華言、起而往尼尼微、夫尼尼微之邑甚大、周歷三日之程、約拿入邑一日之程、呼曰、越至四旬、尼尼微必傾覆矣、尼尼微民信上帝、宣告禁食、自尊逮卑、皆衣麻焉、斯音傳至尼尼微王、遂起、下位解袍、衣麻坐於灰塵、乃與諸伯出諭、布告尼尼微曰、或人或畜、牛羣羊羣、俱勿嘗食、勿食勿飲、人畜俱披麻、眾皆切求上帝、各轉離其惡途、去其手之強暴、上帝或回心轉意、息其烈怒、俾我不亡、亦未可知、上帝見其所為、咸離惡途、乃回厥意、不降所言之災、
