詰朝民夙興、築壇獻燔祭、及酬恩祭。以色列族曾發誓言、凡不至米斯巴詣耶和華前者、必殺毋赦。故相問曰、以色列支派中、孰不至耶和華會。

以利亞告民曰、當來就我、民咸就焉。耶和華之祭壇已毀、以利亞重為修葺。昔耶和華以名賜雅各、稱為以色列、其子分為十二支派、以利亞取石、循其支派之數、以築祭壇、奉事耶和華、壇之四周作溝環繞、可容穀六斗。列柴剖犢、置於柴上、告民曰、以水四甕、傾於祭犢及柴。又曰、如是者二、則行之二次。如是者三、則行之三次。水流於壇之四周、以充其溝。當獻祭之時、先知以利亞前、曰、耶和華歟、亞伯拉罕、以撒、以色列之上帝、今日使民咸知、爾在以色列族中為上帝、亦知我屬爾僕、凡有所為、悉遵爾命。

大闢遁至拉馬、見撒母耳、以掃羅所為告。二人往拿約居焉。或告掃羅、大闢往拉馬之拿約。掃羅遣人執大闢、使者見眾先知、為撒母耳所治理、俱感神而言、乃亦為上帝之神所感而言。或告掃羅、又遣使者、亦感神而言、三遣皆若是。掃羅親往拉馬、至西古大井、問撒母耳大闢安在。或曰、在拉馬之拿約。掃羅既至、亦為上帝之神所感、且行且言、迨至拉馬之拿約。

耶和華顯現與亞伯蘭曰、我將以斯土、賜爾苗裔、亞伯蘭乃於顯現之處、築壇以祭。後遷伯特利東山、以張其幕、西有伯特利、東有孩、在彼築壇、奉事耶和華、而籲其名。

昔雅各避兄以掃、上帝顯現、故在彼築壇、名其地曰益伯特利。

在彼築壇、稱其名上帝壇、即以色列之上帝。

民往吉甲、立掃羅為王、獻酬恩之祭於耶和華前、掃羅與以色列人、欣喜不勝。
