And they did[ it] the third time.And the water ran round about the altar; and he filled the trench also with water.And it came to pass at[ the time of] the offering of the[ evening] sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou[ art] God in Israel, and[ that] I[ am] thy servant, and[ that] I have done all these things at thy word.

So David fled, and escaped, and came to Samuel to Ramah, and told him all that Saul had done to him. And he and Samuel went and dwelt in Naioth.And it was told Saul, saying, Behold, David[ is] at Naioth in Ramah.And Saul sent messengers to take David: and when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing[ as] appointed over them, the Spirit of God was upon the messengers of Saul, and they also prophesied.And when it was told Saul, he sent other messengers, and they prophesied likewise. And Saul sent messengers again the third time, and they prophesied also.Then went he also to Ramah, and came to a great well that[ is] in Sechu: and he asked and said, Where[ are] Samuel and David? And[ one] said, Behold,[ they be] at Naioth in Ramah.And he went thither to Naioth in Ramah: and the Spirit of God was upon him also, and he went on, and prophesied, until he came to Naioth in Ramah.

And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him.And he removed from thence unto a mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent,[ having] Bethel on the west, and Hai on the east: and there he builded an altar unto the LORD, and called upon the name of the LORD.

And he built there an altar, and called the place Elbethel: because there God appeared unto him, when he fled from the face of his brother.

And he erected there an altar, and called it Elelohe-Israel.

And all the people went to Gilgal; and there they made Saul king before the LORD in Gilgal; and there they sacrificed sacrifices of peace offerings before the LORD; and there Saul and all the men of Israel rejoiced greatly.
