Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen, and called its name Ebenezer, saying,“ Thus far the Lord has helped us.”

Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying,“ Thus far the Lord has helped us.”

Then Samuel got a big stone. He set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer. He said,“ The Lord has helped us every step of the way.”

Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen and called its name Ebenezer; for he said,“ Till now the Lord has helped us.”

Samuel then took a large stone and placed it between the towns of Mizpah and Jeshanah. He named it Ebenezer( which means“ the stone of help”), for he said,“ Up to this point the Lord has helped us!”

Afterward, Samuel took a stone and set it upright between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, explaining,“ The LORD has helped us to this point.”

Therefore, having obtained help from God, to this day I stand, witnessing both to small and great, saying no other things than those which the prophets and Moses said would come—

So Jacob set up a pillar in the place where He talked with him, a pillar of stone; and he poured a drink offering on it, and he poured oil on it.

Then the Philistines took the ark of God and brought it from Ebenezer to Ashdod.

And Abraham called the name of the place, The-LORD-Will-Provide; as it is said to this day,“ In the Mount of The Lord it shall be provided.”

So Jacob took a stone and set it up as a pillar.Then Jacob said to his brethren,“ Gather stones.” And they took stones and made a heap, and they ate there on the heap.Laban called it Jegar Sahadutha, but Jacob called it Galeed.And Laban said,“ This heap is a witness between you and me this day.” Therefore its name was called Galeed,also Mizpah, because he said,“ May the Lord watch between you and me when we are absent one from another.If you afflict my daughters, or if you take other wives besides my daughters, although no man is with us— see, God is witness between you and me!”Then Laban said to Jacob,“ Here is this heap and here is this pillar, which I have placed between you and me.This heap is a witness, and this pillar is a witness, that I will not pass beyond this heap to you, and you will not pass beyond this heap and this pillar to me, for harm.

And Moses built an altar and called its name, The-LORD-Is-My-Banner;

Then Jacob rose early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put at his head, set it up as a pillar, and poured oil on top of it.And he called the name of that place Bethel; but the name of that city had been Luz previously.

And the word of Samuel came to all Israel. Now Israel went out to battle against the Philistines, and encamped beside Ebenezer; and the Philistines encamped in Aphek.

“ Listen to Me, O house of Jacob, And all the remnant of the house of Israel, Who have been upheld by Me from birth, Who have been carried from the womb:Even to your old age, I am He, And even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; Even I will carry, and will deliver you.

Then Joshua wrote these words in the Book of the Law of God. And he took a large stone, and set it up there under the oak that was by the sanctuary of the Lord.And Joshua said to all the people,“ Behold, this stone shall be a witness to us, for it has heard all the words of the Lord which He spoke to us. It shall therefore be a witness to you, lest you deny your God.”

In that day there will be an altar to the Lord in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar to the Lord at its border.

O God, You have taught me from my youth; And to this day I declare Your wondrous works.

By You I have been upheld from birth; You are He who took me out of my mother’s womb. My praise shall be continually of You.

And those twelve stones which they took out of the Jordan, Joshua set up in Gilgal.Then he spoke to the children of Israel, saying:“ When your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying,‘ What are these stones?’then you shall let your children know, saying,‘ Israel crossed over this Jordan on dry land’;for the Lord your God dried up the waters of the Jordan before you until you had crossed over, as the Lord your God did to the Red Sea, which He dried up before us until we had crossed over,that all the peoples of the earth may know the hand of the Lord, that it is mighty, that you may fear the Lord your God forever.”
