以色列人选择新神，争战的事就临到城门。那时，以色列四万人中岂能见盾牌枪矛呢？

这不是割麦子的时候吗？我求告耶和华，他必打雷降雨，使你们又知道又看出，你们求立王的事是在耶和华面前犯大罪了。”

说：‘以色列人哪，你们当听，你们今日将要与仇敌争战，不要胆怯，不要惧怕战兢，也不要因他们惊恐；因为耶和华你们的神与你们同去，要为你们与仇敌争战，拯救你们。’

摩西向天伸杖，耶和华就打雷下雹，有火闪到地上；耶和华下雹在埃及地上。那时，雹与火搀杂，甚是厉害，自从埃及成国以来，遍地没有这样的。在埃及遍地，雹击打了田间所有的人和牲畜，并一切的菜蔬，又打坏田间一切的树木。

神啊，诸水见你，一见就都惊惶；深渊也都战抖。云中倒出水来；天空发出响声；你的箭也飞行四方。你的雷声在旋风中；电光照亮世界；大地战抖震动。

耶和华使西西拉和他一切车辆全军溃乱，在巴拉面前被刀杀败；西西拉下车步行逃跑。

有烈火在他前头行，烧灭他四围的敌人。他的闪电光照世界，大地看见便震动。

他以黑暗为藏身之处，以水的黑暗、天空的厚云为他四围的行宫。因他面前的光辉，他的厚云行过便有冰雹火炭。耶和华也在天上打雷；至高者发出声音便有冰雹火炭。他射出箭来，使仇敌四散；多多发出闪电，使他们扰乱。

他对我说：“这是耶和华指示所罗巴伯的。万军之耶和华说：不是倚靠势力，不是倚靠才能，乃是倚靠我的灵方能成事。

又有闪电、声音、雷轰、大地震，自从地上有人以来，没有这样大、这样厉害的地震。那大城裂为三段，列国的城也都倒塌了；神也想起巴比伦大城来，要把那盛自己烈怒的酒杯递给他。各海岛都逃避了，众山也不见了。又有大雹子从天落在人身上，每一个约重一他连得。为这雹子的灾极大，人就亵渎神。
