While Samuel was sacrificing the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to engage Israel in battle. But that day the Lord thundered with loud thunder against the Philistines and threw them into such a panic that they were routed before the Israelites.

The Philistines came near to attack Israel. At that time Samuel was sacrificing the burnt offering. But that day the Lord thundered loudly against the Philistines. He threw them into such a panic that the Israelites were able to chase them away.

As Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to attack Israel. But the Lord thundered with a mighty sound that day against the Philistines and threw them into confusion, and they were defeated before Israel.

以色列人選擇新的神明，便戰禍臨門，四萬以色列人中找不到一矛一盾。

你們都知道收割麥子的時候不會下雨。現在，我要向耶和華禱告，求祂打雷降雨，好讓你們知道，你們要求立王在耶和華眼中是多麼大的罪。」

說，『以色列人啊，聽著！今天你們要和敵人交戰，不要膽怯，不要懼怕，也不要恐慌。因為你們的上帝耶和華要與你們同去，為你們爭戰，使你們得勝。』

摩西向天伸出手杖，耶和華就發出雷電和冰雹，火光飛向大地。耶和華在埃及降下冰雹。那時冰雹夾雜著火降下來，極為嚴重，在埃及史無前例。冰雹摧毀了埃及境內田間的一切，包括人和牲畜，摧毀了田裡的一切作物，打斷了所有的樹木，

上帝啊，海水看見你就戰慄，深淵看見你就顫抖。雲層倒出雨水，天上雷霆霹靂，電光四射。旋風中傳來你的雷聲，你的閃電照亮世界，大地顫抖震動。

進攻西西拉。耶和華使西西拉的戰車和軍隊驚慌失措，敗在巴拉刀下。西西拉棄車徒步逃跑，

烈火做祂的先鋒，燒滅祂周圍的仇敵。祂的閃電照亮世界，大地因此而戰抖。

祂藏身於黑暗中，四圍以密雲作幔幕。從祂面前的榮光中，冰雹和火炭衝破雲層。耶和華在天上打雷，至高者發出的聲音響徹在冰雹和火炭中。祂射出利箭驅散仇敵，發出閃電擊潰他們。

他對我說：「這是耶和華對所羅巴伯講的話。萬軍之耶和華說，『不靠權勢，不靠才能，乃靠我的靈。

隨後雷電交加，伴隨著巨響，還有空前劇烈的大地震。巴比倫大城裂作三段，其他各國的城邑也都倒塌了。上帝並沒有忘記巴比倫大城的罪惡，要把那杯盛滿祂烈怒的酒給她喝。海島都沉沒了，山嶺也都不見了，又有重達三十四公斤的巨型冰雹從天而降，打在世人身上。世人無法忍受這極大的災禍，就褻瀆上帝。
