因此他們把神的約櫃送到以革倫。當神的約櫃來到以革倫的時候，以革倫人就哀叫說：「他們把以色列神的約櫃轉移到我們這裡了，要害死我們和我們的民眾啊！」

亞實基倫看見就害怕，迦薩在痛苦中掙扎；以革倫也如此，因為她所仰望的蒙羞了。君王必從迦薩消亡，亞實基倫必無人居住。混雜的種族必住在阿實圖；我必剪除非利士人的驕傲，

非利士人奪去神的約櫃，把它從以便-以謝帶到阿實突。

非利士人就問：「我們應該帶給他什麼賠罪的禮物呢？」他們回答：「按著非利士首領的數目，帶上五個金腫物和五隻金老鼠，因為同一個瘟疫臨到了你們所有的人和你們的首領們。
