其实是耶和华的手攻击他们，直到把他们从营中全部消灭。

这样非利士人被征服了，没有再侵犯以色列人。在撒母耳有生之年，耶和华一直严厉地对付非利士人。

如果你们不听从耶和华的话，违背祂的命令，祂就会像从前惩罚你们的祖先一样惩罚你们。

祂击退仇敌，叫他们永远蒙羞。

非利士人问：“我们该送什么作赔罪的礼物呢？”他们答道：“你们要按非利士首领的数目，送五个金毒疮和五只金鼠，因为你们和你们的首领都遭受了同样的灾难。所以，你们要制作金毒疮和毁坏田地的老鼠的像，尊崇以色列的上帝，也许祂会放过你们、你们的神明及田地。

我看见主站在祭坛旁，祂说：“要击打柱顶，使殿的根基震动；要打碎柱顶，使殿宇坍塌压死众人。侥幸生还的，我要用刀剑杀掉，没有一个能逃脱，没有一个能幸免。即使他们挖洞钻进阴间，我也要把他们揪出来；即使他们爬上高天，我也要把他们拉下来；即使他们藏在迦密山的峰顶，我也要去搜寻，捉住他们；即使他们潜到海底，我也要派海蛇去吞咬他们；即使他们被敌人掳去，我也要命刀剑追杀他们。我要定睛在他们身上，不是要赐福而是要降祸。”
