When the people of Ashdod saw what was happening, they said,“ The ark of the god of Israel must not stay here with us, because his hand is heavy on us and on Dagon our god.”

The people of Ashdod saw what was happening. They said,“ The ark of the god of Israel must not stay here with us. His power is against us and against our god Dagon.”

And when the men of Ashdod saw how things were, they said,“ The ark of the God of Israel must not remain with us, for his hand is hard against us and against Dagon our god.”

When the people realized what was happening, they cried out,“ We can’t keep the Ark of the God of Israel here any longer! He is against us! We will all be destroyed along with Dagon, our god.”

When the people of Ashdod saw what was happening, they said,“ The ark of Israel’s God must not stay here with us, because his hand is strongly against us and our god Dagon.”

When the men of Ashdod saw that it was so, they said,“ The ark of the God of Israel must not remain with us, because His hand is severe on us and on Dagon our god.”

埃及人催促百姓趕快離開那地，因為埃及人說：「我們都快死了。」

你因倚靠自己所做的和自己的財寶，必被攻取。基抹和屬它的祭司、官長也要一同被擄去。

請你們祈求耶和華，因神的雷轟和冰雹已經夠了。我要放你們走，你們不用再留下來了。」

那日，大衛懼怕耶和華，說：「耶和華的約櫃怎可到我這裏來呢？」

我們有禍了！誰能救我們脫離這些大能之神明的手呢？從前在曠野用各樣災禍擊打埃及人的，就是這些神明。

大衛因耶和華突然衝出撞死烏撒就生氣，稱那地方為毗列斯‧烏撒，直到今日。那日，大衛懼怕神，說：「我怎能將神的約櫃接到我這裏來呢？」於是大衛不將約櫃接進大衛城他自己的地方，卻轉送到迦特人俄別‧以東的家中。

法老召摩西和亞倫來，說：「請你們祈求耶和華使這些青蛙離開我和我的百姓，我就讓這百姓去向耶和華獻祭。」

萬軍之耶和華－以色列的神說：「看哪，我要懲罰挪的亞捫和法老、埃及和它的神明，以及君王，也要懲罰法老和倚靠他的人。

法老說：「我可以放你們走，在曠野向耶和華－你們的神獻祭，只是不可走得太遠。你們要為我祈禱。」

次日，亞實突人清早起來，看哪，大袞仆倒在耶和華的約櫃前，臉伏於地，他們就扶起大袞，把它放回原處。又次日，他們清早起來，看哪，大袞仆倒在耶和華的約櫃前，臉伏於地，並且大袞的頭和兩手都在門檻上折斷，只剩下大袞的軀幹。

伯‧示麥人說：「誰能在耶和華這位聖潔的神面前侍立呢？這約櫃可以從我們這裏上到誰那裏去呢？」

因為你們上一次沒有抬這約櫃，並且我們沒有按規矩求問耶和華－我們的神，所以他衝出來攻擊我們。」

法老的臣僕對法老說：「這傢伙成為我們的羅網要到幾時呢？讓這些人去事奉耶和華－他們的神吧！埃及快要滅亡了，你還不知道嗎？」
