When the people of Ashdod saw what was happening, they said,“ The ark of the god of Israel must not stay here with us, because his hand is heavy on us and on Dagon our god.”

When the people realized what was happening, they cried out,“ We can’t keep the Ark of the God of Israel here any longer! He is against us! We will all be destroyed along with Dagon, our god.”

埃及人催促以色列人趕快離開埃及，因為他們說：「我們都要死了。」

摩押啊，你要被攻佔，因為你倚仗自己的成就和財富。你的神明基抹及供奉它的祭司和官長都要被擄去。

請你們向耶和華禱告，好止住雷電和冰雹。我准許以色列人出去，你們不必再留在這裡了。」

那天，大衛懼怕耶和華，他說：「耶和華的約櫃怎能運到我這裡？」

我們大禍臨頭了！誰能從這些大能的神明手中救我們？在曠野用各種災禍毀滅埃及人的就是這些神明。

大衛因耶和華擊殺烏撒而煩惱，就稱那地方為毗列斯·烏撒，沿用至今。那天，大衛懼怕上帝，他說：「我怎能將上帝的約櫃運到我這裡？」因此，大衛沒有將約櫃運到大衛城，而是把它運到迦特人俄別·以東家。

法老召摩西和亞倫進宮，對他們說：「你們快求耶和華，使這些青蛙離開我們，我便讓百姓去獻祭給耶和華。」

以色列的上帝——萬軍之耶和華說：「看啊，我要懲罰提比斯的神明亞捫和埃及的其他神明、法老、首領以及依靠法老的人。

法老說：「好，我讓你們去曠野獻祭給你們的上帝耶和華，只是不要走得太遠。現在為我祈求吧。」

第二天早上，亞實突人起來，發現大袞神像倒在耶和華的約櫃前，面伏於地，他們就把大袞神像扶起來，放回原處。次日早上起來，他們又發現大袞神像倒在耶和華的約櫃前，面伏於地，頭和雙手都在門檻處折斷了，只剩下軀幹。

伯·示麥人說：「誰能站立在耶和華——這位聖潔的上帝面前呢？該把約櫃送到誰那裡呢？」

先前你們沒有抬約櫃，我們也沒有按規矩求問我們的上帝耶和華，以致祂向我們發怒。」

臣僕對法老說：「這個人還要給我們添多少麻煩呢？讓他們離開去事奉他們的上帝耶和華吧！埃及已經快崩潰了，你不知道嗎？」
