When the people of Ashdod rose early the next day, there was Dagon, fallen on his face on the ground before the ark of the Lord! They took Dagon and put him back in his place.

The people of Ashdod got up early the next day. They saw the statue of Dagon. There it was, lying on the ground! It had fallen on its face in front of the ark of the Lord. So they picked up the statue of Dagon. They put it back in its place.

And when the people of Ashdod rose early the next day, behold, Dagon had fallen face downward on the ground before the ark of the Lord. So they took Dagon and put him back in his place.

But when the citizens of Ashdod went to see it the next morning, Dagon had fallen with his face to the ground in front of the Ark of the Lord! So they took Dagon and put him in his place again.

彼勒屈身，尼波彎腰；巴比倫的偶像馱在獸和牲畜上。他們所擡的如今成了重馱，使牲畜疲乏，都一同彎腰屈身，不能保全重馱，自己倒被擄去。

論埃及的默示：看哪，耶和華乘駕快雲，臨到埃及。埃及的偶像在他面前戰兢；埃及人的心在裏面消化。

他們將神像擡起，扛在肩上，安置在定處，它就站立，不離本位；人呼求它，它不能答應，也不能救人脫離患難。

他用剩下的做了一神，就是雕刻的偶像。他向這偶像俯伏叩拜，禱告它說：「求你拯救我，因你是我的神。」他們不知道，也不思想；因為耶和華閉住他們的眼，不能看見，塞住他們的心，不能明白。誰心裏也不醒悟，也沒有知識，沒有聰明，能說：「我曾拿一分在火中燒了，在炭火上烤過餅；我也烤過肉吃。這剩下的，我豈要做可憎的物嗎？我豈可向木墩子叩拜呢？」他以灰為食，心中昏迷，使他偏邪，他不能自救，也不能說：「我右手中豈不是有虛謊嗎？」

你們和不信的原不相配，不要同負一軛。義和不義有甚麼相交呢？光明和黑暗有甚麼相通呢？基督和彼列有甚麼相和呢？信主的和不信主的有甚麼相干呢？神的殿和偶像有甚麼相同呢？因為我們是永生神的殿，就如神曾說：我要在他們中間居住，在他們中間來往；我要作他們的神；他們要作我的子民。

因為那夜我要巡行埃及地，把埃及地一切頭生的，無論是人是牲畜，都擊殺了，又要敗壞埃及一切的神。我是耶和華。

願一切事奉雕刻的偶像、靠虛無之神自誇的，都蒙羞愧。萬神哪，你們都當拜他。

木匠勉勵銀匠，用鎚打光的勉勵打砧的，論銲工說，銲得好；又用釘子釘穩，免得偶像動搖。

耶穌對他們說：「我曾看見撒但從天上墜落，像閃電一樣。我已經給你們權柄可以踐踏蛇和蠍子，又勝過仇敵一切的能力，斷沒有甚麼能害你們。然而，不要因鬼服了你們就歡喜，要因你們的名記錄在天上歡喜。」

窮乏獻不起這樣供物的，就揀選不能朽壞的樹木，為自己尋找巧匠，立起不能搖動的偶像。

耶和華必向他們顯可畏之威，因他必叫世上的諸神瘦弱。列國海島的居民各在自己的地方敬拜他。

污鬼無論何時看見他，就俯伏在他面前，喊着說：「你是神的兒子。」

他們盡都是畜類，是愚昧的。偶像的訓誨算甚麼呢？偶像不過是木頭。
