爾非利士人、當努力為豪傑、不然、惟恐爾役事希伯來人、如彼役事爾然、當為豪傑而與之戰、

Be strong, Philistines! Be men, or you will be subject to the Hebrews, as they have been to you. Be men, and fight!”

以色列族再行惡於耶和華前、耶和華付之於非利士人手、歷四十年。

儆醒也、貞信也、剛健如丈夫也、

今而後、兄弟賴主大力當剛健、衣上帝所賜甲胄、敵魔之詭譎、

耶和華震怒、付之於非利士人及亞捫人手、

宜強乃志、為我民及為我上帝之眾邑戰、願耶和華任意以行。

以色列族為異邦人所扶翼、旋返桑梓、即耶和華駐蹕之所、得異邦人為僕為婢、供其服役、昔則見擄於人、今則擄人、昔則受制於人、今則制人。

人不虐爾、而爾虐人、人不誣爾、而爾誣人、禍將及矣、爾以誣虐施諸人、則人待爾亦若是、

爾當全盛之時、不中心欣喜、奉事爾之上帝耶和華。故耶和華必遣敵攻爾、使爾饑渴、裸體匱乏、服役於敵、彼於鐵軛置於爾頸、迨爾滅亡。
