軍隊回到營地中，以色列的長老們說：「為什麼今天耶和華讓我們敗在非利士人面前呢？我們把耶和華的約櫃從示羅帶到我們這裡吧，讓約櫃來到我們當中，拯救我們脫離仇敵的手！」

When the soldiers returned to camp, the elders of Israel asked,“ Why did the Lord bring defeat on us today before the Philistines? Let us bring the ark of the Lord’s covenant from Shiloh, so that he may go with us and save us from the hand of our enemies.”

The rest of the Israelite soldiers returned to camp. Then the elders asked them,“ Why did the Lord let the Philistines win the battle over us today? Let’s bring the ark of the Lord’ s covenant from Shiloh. Let’s take it with us. Then the Lord will save us from the power of our enemies.”

And when the people came to the camp, the elders of Israel said,“ Why has the Lord defeated us today before the Philistines? Let us bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord here from Shiloh, that it may come among us and save us from the power of our enemies.”

After the battle was over, the troops retreated to their camp, and the elders of Israel asked,“ Why did the Lord allow us to be defeated by the Philistines?” Then they said,“ Let’s bring the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord from Shiloh. If we carry it into battle with us, it will save us from our enemies.”

When the people came into the camp, the elders of Israel said,“ Why has the Lord defeated us today before the Philistines? Let’s take the ark of the covenant of the Lord from Shiloh, so that He may come among us and save us from the power of our enemies.”

And when the people had come into the camp, the elders of Israel said,“ Why has the Lord defeated us today before the Philistines? Let us bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord from Shiloh to us, that when it comes among us it may save us from the hand of our enemies.”

And when the people were come into the camp, the elders of Israel said, Wherefore hath Jehovah smitten us to- day before the Philistines? Let us fetch the ark of the covenant of Jehovah out of Shiloh unto us, that it may come among us, and save us out of the hand of our enemies.

And when the people were come into the camp, the elders of Israel said, Wherefore hath the LORD smitten us to day before the Philistines? Let us fetch the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of Shiloh unto us, that, when it cometh among us, it may save us out of the hand of our enemies.

When the army came back to the camp, the elders of Israel said,“ Why did the LORD let us be defeated today by the Philistines? Let’s take with us the ark of the covenant of the LORD from Shiloh. When it is with us, it will save us from the hand of our enemies.

When the people had come into the camp, the elders of Israel said,“ Why has Yahweh defeated us today before the Philistines? Let’s get the ark of Yahweh’s covenant out of Shiloh and bring it to us, that it may come among us and save us out of the hand of our enemies.”

Now I do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, that our ancestors were all under the cloud, all passed through the sea,and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea.They all ate the same spiritual food,and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from the spiritual rock that followed them, and that rock was Christ.Nevertheless God was not pleased with most of them, since they were struck down in the wilderness.

holding to the form of godliness but denying its power. Avoid these people.

See what I did to it because of the evil of my people Israel.Now, because you have done all these things— this is the LORD’s declaration— and because I have spoken to you time and time again but you wouldn’t listen, and I have called to you, but you wouldn’t answer,what I did to Shiloh I will do to the house that bears my name, the house in which you trust, the place that I gave you and your ancestors.I will banish you from my presence, just as I banished all of your brothers, all the descendants of Ephraim.’

Have seven priests carry seven ram’s-horn trumpets in front of the ark. But on the seventh day, march around the city seven times, while the priests blow the ram’s horns.When there is a prolonged blast of the horn and you hear its sound, have all the troops give a mighty shout. Then the city wall will collapse, and the troops will advance, each man straight ahead.”

This is what the LORD says: Where is your mother’s divorce certificate that I used to send her away? Or to which of my creditors did I sell you? Look, you were sold for your iniquities, and your mother was sent away because of your transgressions.

Why have you rejected us forever, God? Why does your anger burn against the sheep of your pasture?

Whenever the ark set out, Moses would say: Arise, LORD! Let your enemies be scattered, and those who hate you flee from your presence.

And don’t presume to say to yourselves,‘ We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you that God is able to raise up children for Abraham from these stones.The ax is already at the root of the trees. Therefore, every tree that doesn’t produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.

I hate, I despise, your feasts! I can’t stand the stench of your solemn assemblies.Even if you offer me your burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them; I will have no regard for your fellowship offerings of fattened cattle.

Moses sent one thousand from each tribe to war. They went with Phinehas son of Eleazar the priest, in whose care were the holy objects and signal trumpets.

Now I want to remind you, although you came to know all these things once and for all, that Jesus saved a people out of Egypt and later destroyed those who did not believe;

“ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence.Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup, so that the outside of it may also become clean.“ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which appear beautiful on the outside, but inside are full of the bones of the dead and every kind of impurity.In the same way, on the outside you seem righteous to people, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

“ What are all your sacrifices to me?” asks the LORD.“ I have had enough of burnt offerings and rams and the fat of well-fed cattle; I have no desire for the blood of bulls, lambs, or male goats.When you come to appear before me, who requires this from you— this trampling of my courts?Stop bringing useless offerings. Your incense is detestable to me. New Moons and Sabbaths, and the calling of solemn assemblies— I cannot stand iniquity with a festival.I hate your New Moons and prescribed festivals. They have become a burden to me; I am tired of putting up with them.When you spread out your hands in prayer, I will refuse to look at you; even if you offer countless prayers, I will not listen. Your hands are covered with blood.

All the nations will ask,‘ Why has the LORD done this to this land? Why this intense outburst of anger?’
