以法莲人备上了弓箭，却临阵逃命。

以色列人见王不听他们的请求，就说：“我们与大卫有何相干？我们与耶西的儿子没有关系！以色列人啊，各自回家吧！大卫家啊，自己照顾自己吧！”于是，以色列人各自回家了。

以色列人被大卫的部下打败，伤亡惨重，有两万人阵亡。

因此，他的上帝耶和华把他交在亚兰王手中，亚兰王就打败他，把他的许多人民掳到大马士革。他也被交在以色列王手中，损失惨重。利玛利的儿子比加一天之内杀了犹大十二万勇士，因为他们背弃了他们祖先的上帝耶和华。

亚比雅和他的军队大败以色列人，歼灭了他们五十万精兵。
