Then Saul said to his armor-bearer,“ Draw your sword and run me through with it, or these uncircumcised men will come and run me through and torture me!” But his armor-bearer would not do it because he was terrified. Then Saul took his sword and fell on it.

謂執兵者曰、爾其拔劍刺我、免未受割者至、刺而侮我、執兵者懼甚、不敢奉命、掃羅遂伏劍而死、

謂持兵之士曰、汝其拔刃刺我、恐未受割者刺我、加以狎侮。持兵之士懼甚、不敢奉命、掃羅觸刃而死。

謂執其兵器者曰、爾可拔刀刺我、恐未受割禮者來刺我、加以狎褻、執其兵器者懼甚、不敢奉命、掃羅遂取刀自伏其上、

Saul said to his armor-bearer,“ Draw your sword and run me through, or these uncircumcised fellows will come and run me through and abuse me.” But his armor-bearer was terrified and would not do it; so Saul took his own sword and fell on it.

Saul spoke to the man carrying his armor. He said,“ Pull out your sword. Stick it through me. If you don’t, these fellows who aren’t circumcised will come. They’ll stick their swords through me and hurt me badly.” But the man was terrified. He wouldn’t do it. So Saul took his own sword and fell on it.

Then Saul said to his armor-bearer,“ Draw your sword, and thrust me through with it, lest these uncircumcised come and thrust me through, and mistreat me.” But his armor-bearer would not, for he feared greatly. Therefore Saul took his own sword and fell upon it.

Saul groaned to his armor bearer,“ Take your sword and kill me before these pagan Philistines come to run me through and taunt and torture me.” But his armor bearer was afraid and would not do it. So Saul took his own sword and fell on it.

Then Saul said to his armor bearer,“ Draw your sword and pierce me through with it, otherwise these uncircumcised Philistines will come and pierce me through, and abuse me.” But his armor bearer was unwilling, because he was very fearful. So Saul took his sword and fell on it.

Then Saul said to his armorbearer,“ Draw your sword, and thrust me through with it, lest these uncircumcised men come and thrust me through and abuse me.” But his armorbearer would not, for he was greatly afraid. Therefore Saul took a sword and fell on it.

Then said Saul to his armorbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith, lest these uncircumcised come and thrust me through, and abuse me. But his armorbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. Therefore Saul took his sword, and fell upon it.

Then Saul said to his armor bearer,“ Draw your sword, and thrust me through with it, lest these uncircumcised come and thrust me through, and abuse me!” But his armor bearer would not; for he was terrified. Therefore Saul took his sword, and fell on it.

He quickly called his armor-bearer and said to him,“ Draw your sword and kill me, or they’ll say about me,‘ A woman killed him.’” So his armor-bearer ran him through, and he died.

Your servant has killed lions and bears; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, for he has defied the armies of the living God.”

Jonathan said to the attendant who carried his weapons,“ Come on, let’s cross over to the garrison of these uncircumcised men. Perhaps the LORD will help us. Nothing can keep the LORD from saving, whether by many or by few.”

David spoke to the men who were standing with him:“ What will be done for the man who kills that Philistine and removes this disgrace from Israel? Just who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God?”

Then he begged me,‘ Stand over me and kill me, for I’m mortally wounded, but my life still lingers.’So I stood over him and killed him because I knew that after he had fallen he couldn’t survive. I took the crown that was on his head and the armband that was on his arm, and I’ve brought them here to my lord.”

“ I happened to be on Mount Gilboa,” he replied,“ and there was Saul, leaning on his spear. At that very moment the chariots and the cavalry were closing in on him.

“‘ Look, the days are coming— this is the LORD’s declaration— when I will punish all the circumcised yet uncircumcised:Egypt, Judah, Edom, the Ammonites, Moab, and all the inhabitants of the desert who clip the hair on their temples. All these nations are uncircumcised, and the whole house of Israel is uncircumcised in heart.’”

When Ahithophel realized that his advice had not been followed, he saddled his donkey and set out for his house in his hometown. He set his house in order and hanged himself. So he died and was buried in his father’s tomb.

Then Saul said to his armor-bearer,“ Draw your sword and run me through with it, or these uncircumcised men will come and torture me.” But his armor-bearer would not do it because he was terrified. Then Saul took his sword and fell on it.

But his father and mother said to him,“ Can’t you find a young woman among your relatives or among any of our people? Must you go to the uncircumcised Philistines for a wife?” But Samson told his father,“ Get her for me. She’s the right one for me.”

David questioned him,“ How is it that you were not afraid to lift your hand to destroy the LORD’s anointed?”

When you brought in foreigners, uncircumcised in both heart and flesh, to occupy my sanctuary, you defiled my temple while you offered my food— the fat and the blood. You broke my covenant by all your detestable practices.You have not kept charge of my holy things but have appointed others to keep charge of my sanctuary for you.’“ This is what the Lord GOD says: No foreigner, uncircumcised in heart and flesh, may enter my sanctuary, not even a foreigner who is among the Israelites.

Do not tell it in Gath, don’t announce it in the marketplaces of Ashkelon, or the daughters of the Philistines will rejoice, and the daughters of the uncircumcised will celebrate.
