猶大人俱至、以膏沐大闢、立為其族之王。或告大闢曰、葬掃羅者、基列之雅疋人。大闢遣使者至基列之雅疋、告其人曰、汝厚待爾主掃羅、俾其得葬、願耶和華錫爾純嘏。加以恩寵、真實無妄、我亦欲報爾以恩。爾主掃羅既沒、猶大族沐我以膏、立我為王、當強爾志、無忝英武。

親戚取其尸骸、而焚以火、問室中之人、尚有人與爾共處否、若曰否、必曰爾當緘口、勿稱耶和華名、

爾將死於安樂、爾之列祖先王易簀之時、人爇芬芳之品、哭曰、哀哉我主、爾逝世、人焚香哭爾、亦若是。我耶和華已言之矣。
