大衛對亞希米勒的兒子祭司亞比亞特說：「請把以弗得帶到我這裡來。」亞比亞特就把以弗得帶到大衛那裡。

大衛謂祭司亞希米勒子亞比亞他曰、請攜聖衣至、亞比亞他遂攜之至、

謂祭司亞希米勒子亞庇亞塔曰、請攜公服以至。亞庇亞塔攜公服至。

大衛謂祭司亞希米勒子亞比亞他曰、為我攜以弗得至、亞比亞他攜以弗得至大衛前、

Then David spoke to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelek. He said,“ Bring me the linen apron.” Abiathar brought it to him.

And David said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelech,“ Bring me the ephod.” So Abiathar brought the ephod to David.

Then he said to Abiathar the priest,“ Bring me the ephod!” So Abiathar brought it.

David said to the priest Abiathar son of Ahimelech,“ Bring me the ephod.” So Abiathar brought it to him,

Then David said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelech,“ Please bring me the ephod.” So Abiathar brought the ephod to David.

Then David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech’s son,“ Please bring the ephod here to me.” And Abiathar brought the ephod to David.

And David said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelech, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David.

David said to Abiathar the priest, son of Ahimelech,“ Bring me the ephod.” So Abiathar brought it to him,

And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech’s son, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David.

Then David said to the priest Abiathar son of Ahimelech,“ Bring me the ephod.” So Abiathar brought the ephod to David.

David said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelech,“ Please bring the ephod here to me.” Abiathar brought the ephod to David.

But one son of Ahimelek son of Ahitub, named Abiathar, escaped and fled to join David.He told David that Saul had killed the priests of the Lord.

he inquired of the Lord, saying,“ Shall I go and attack these Philistines?” The Lord answered him,“ Go, attack the Philistines and save Keilah.”But David’s men said to him,“ Here in Judah we are afraid. How much more, then, if we go to Keilah against the Philistine forces!”Once again David inquired of the Lord, and the Lord answered him,“ Go down to Keilah, for I am going to give the Philistines into your hand.”So David and his men went to Keilah, fought the Philistines and carried off their livestock. He inflicted heavy losses on the Philistines and saved the people of Keilah.( Now Abiathar son of Ahimelek had brought the ephod down with him when he fled to David at Keilah.)Saul was told that David had gone to Keilah, and he said,“ God has delivered him into my hands, for David has imprisoned himself by entering a town with gates and bars.”And Saul called up all his forces for battle, to go down to Keilah to besiege David and his men.When David learned that Saul was plotting against him, he said to Abiathar the priest,“ Bring the ephod.”

To Abiathar the priest the king said,“ Go back to your fields in Anathoth. You deserve to die, but I will not put you to death now, because you carried the ark of the Sovereign Lord before my father David and shared all my father’s hardships.”

In the days of Abiathar the high priest, he entered the house of God and ate the consecrated bread, which is lawful only for priests to eat. And he also gave some to his companions.”
